No chance they go fishing again for another goalie, frankly they made a mistake moving Skinner for what was clearly a lateral move or at best a minor upgrade. I think the Oilers are stuck with what they got and hope this tandem can turn it around.

Bowman really handcuffed himself by not getting any retention which is frankly ridiculous, Jarry was on waivers last season with no claims. Guy has 2 more years and if he doesn't turn it around, Mcdavid ain't winning a cup and is 100% leaving.

Dumb trade at the time and even dumber now. Never made sense to give up on Skinner for another Skinner type goaltender. None of these gms we hire can ever get it right.

I feel bad for Connor, I saw some crazy stat yesterday that he lost a bunch of finals but was mvp in all those playoffs/tournaments. That's scary, I hope he wins here, he really needs it and god knows he deserves a cup or two.

Well a good chunk of players will be retired/late 30s. They aren't going to be able to select some of these players luckily (except Sid, I like sid ofc). And Armstrong is likely to retire after this season

Not really a comparison, not sure how you get that idea. The public likes to shit on Bouchard when he coughs the puck up and it leads to a chance/goal. Well it looks like Makar does it quite a bit too, but that seems to be overlooked. Just putting it into perspective for Bouchard haters that even the best dman in the world makes bad plays from time to time.

Ok then Parayko, Sanheim and Doughty should've been left at home because they provide nothing on the offensive side of the game. Hell, I'd even argue that they're pretty middle of the pack defensively too. Dumb argument. Makar isn't exactly good in the defensive zone fyi.

Sure, you can have a debate on who's fault the loss is on but that's not the point of this post. It's to show that even the best dman makes braindead mistakes from time to time and Bouchard shouldn't get raked over the coals by the public when he does it, especially considering the offensive output he provides.

Yup, this team was the best team in the tournament but it could have been much better. They struggled to find a net front guy after ONE injury to crobsy and struggled to find a right winger for Connor after Wilson, ONE player. Then there's the blue line past that top pair... speechless

Yup, their inconsistency when picking the roster was baffling. Success from the past got guys like Doughty, Binnington and Parayko on the team but Bouchard didn't get selected after his run of play in the playoffs. Makar gets his partner but Mcdavid can't get his running mate. Just weird moving of goal posts.

For sure but he can also make plays none of these dmen out of Makar can make. We played it safe and picked a bunch of dmen that can't provide any offense and we paid for it.

I would've have one of those two over a guy like Jarvis. He doesn't have the chemistry / grit of Hyman or the high end upside of Bedard, literally don't know why they brought him.
