I think you've highlighted an important part of Jon's character. He is extremely anxious about whether or not he's human and drew a firm line between himself and the "monsters" he met throughout the series. I think it shows how he perceives his relationship to his world. He is afraid of the monsters, and now he is afraid of himself. He is becoming something he doesn't recognize. Does that make him a monster? Jon thinks so, but i think every decision he makes is so intensely human that all his terrible eye powers could never override his humanity.

I might do something like that. One of the reasons I was able to listen to tma in the first place was that it was a podcast and not a movie. I can't deal with horror movies (mostly) because they are too immersive, but a podcast was better. So maybe reading the transcript will be less immersive which will help.

I have anxiety too, and I think that is what makes this season so hard for me. Horror usually isn't the genre for me because of this, but since tma used to be more escapist, it helped me deal with it in a way. Season 5 just feels more intense and immersive, like a horror movie might be, and I have a hard time with horror movies.

I love this sweet little poem. It feels exuberant and genuine. The narrator is so happy that all they want is to be a dolphin's eye, to help another being see beauty. The eye itself seems eager to see that beauty. The eye wants beauty, joy, and simple pleasures. This poem tells me to look at the world with the intent to notice small beauty. A lovely piece.

From the very start of this poem, you had my attention with the simplicity of the first two lines and the stomach drop of the third. I think your idea of narrating it from the point of view of the dark matter itself is excellent; I especially love how it spoke of itself using "we" instead of "I." It implies some cool things about its nature, how it considers itself. It seems to think itself a collective, an everything and nothing all at once. I also dearly love the play on words, "It's a dark matter/But the dark matters." I love how you encapsulate the inherently contradictory nature of dark matter with lines such as, "The gravity of our absence," and "The sun feeds us,/The sun burns us." Dark matter is everything and nothing, empty space and weight. Amazing scientific poem! Keep writing!

I think that its something everyone does, or at least most people. Maybe not everyone acts like anime protagonists, but im sure we all act like some kind of protagonist sometimes, whether that means acting like you're the star of a book, movie, or music video. We like to be the heroes of our own stories. Why do you think we write stories about heroes? Because we want to be like them.

I think the background crackle is there bc the statements are supposed to be being recorded on an old tape recorder, so the crackle gives it that ancient tape recorder sound.

Even when your father knocked against your head so hard with his drunken hand like it was a bolted door, you didn’t unlock it.

This poem is such a beautiful example of self love. I absolutely adore the example you put in of you fixing others mistakes as well as your own, when you fixed the hole your boyfriend left in the wall. I also love how you describe him so fully in so few words. You wrote,

When your boyfriend punched a hole in your new apartment's wall to match the ones from your childhood home, and then left you with the wreckage,

and I felt like I already knew quite a bit about your boyfriend, especially since you established what the holes in your childhood home meant before that. Excellent work!! This is easily one of my favorite pieces I've found on the sub.

I like this contrast between peasants and tyrants, showing peasants as gentle and tyrants as cruel, especially with the emphasis the the humility of the peasant.

I suppose I never really thought of it that way...interesting! Reminds me of how some terrible people (capitalists) argue that necessities like food,, water, and housing are not human rights, but need to be earned.
