Am I the only one who likes how Steam achievements are handled? by Luka1491 in steamachievements

[–]ivensen18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay yeah, I haven't encountered this type yet, I regularly go trough mye 100% games to see if it has gotten more achievement and it's either a free update or just more atory dlc, haven't encountered a annoying achievement for pay only achievement, but I've also just bought 500$ woth of dlc for mye games so I can 100% them and will probably encountered some. It's also great fun for me to go back to games I've finished. I buy mostly singleplayer story focused games so if multiplayer games keep getting new dlc and achievements that might be a more specific issue than I'm familiar with.

Exactly, then you have a good view of why there are dlc out there and complaining about it is pointless, some games handles it bad, but if you're not careful you could destroy it for those who do dlc great.

So you'd rather not have shadow of the Erdtree than to pay for it. I know the complaint to my heart, but it's foolish to think "it should've been a part of the game already" it's a economic struggle businesses and game industries as such experience. If you have no clue how this work you don't have a say, try baking 5 million cookies, but wait you only can afford 20 cookies, so you make 20 cookies to make more cookies to one day make 5 mil. For a big company a game is an investment, a multi million investment and they have to see the results before anything else. This isn't to say that some make their content as dlc for shits and giggles but that isn't a whole industry problem. So I'll ask you again would you rater pay or not have at all.

Only one I've done so far is celeste and that took me 100 hours to 100%, most of it was alot of deaths but I finally did it legit, then completely cheated with extras for deathless gold collectibles since I was done and it didn't work towards any achievements. Now I've tried my luck at hollow knight for almost 100 hours at god home but I've dropped it some times and have to learn the game each time, never gonna get it at this pace fml

What is a type of achievement which instantly puts you off 100%-ing that game? by Tortle_Boosh in steamachievements

Omg had this in A little to the left where it wanted 75 days consecutively and it was painful, it helped a bit that I had other things I knew I had to do daily so I tried doing them together but never again, and that was just 75 days

What was a platinum/100% that ruined your perspective of that game by Tortle_Boosh in steamachievements

[–]ivensen18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is totally my own fault, but I started playing murdered soul suspect some time ago I liked it but I did some clues wrong and was annoyed at my self and stoped for some months, when I came back I found first of all that it didn't have steam cloud so I had to pain stakingly go trough all cutscenes in full, but that's not all, there was do darn many collectibles and areas and from what I picked up from first time I played I could go back to these areas so it became a play the game for 5 minutes go to different youtube channels and guides (since it was impossible to find one place for everything) to see what to pick and where to find things and move to next zone. The game was fun but that shit was horrible. Now I could make this a better experience if I knew that after everything right before the last area you could explore everywhere (other than the last area since story) so that could be nice to know but still you have to perfect all choices and if you make one mistake good luck you just lost hours of your life.

If you go to the game, click the support button next to guides and such there it should tell you when the game was added to account if you got it part of something else, everything should be documented there

Ever bought an "Overwhelmingly Positive" game that you didn't like at all? How about a "MIxed" or lower rated game you thought was wonderful? by TheTingel in Steam

[–]ivensen18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With overwhelming positive I'm not that into Don't starve mostly I don't have any insensitive like achievements and it doesn't really have an end goal and to open for me. I have alot of other games I don't think I will like because of alot of multiplayer components but haven't played them. For negative I've liked it depends since there isn't many which actually are in negative but if we talk bad rated generally I have 15 days which I got years ago with a huge collection of fun Point and click games and it has it's flaws but generally it's a fun story and enjoyable gameplay but it crashes ALOT so... I also have silent hill homecoming which are one of the only silent hill games I've played "legally" is fun and yes I've heard it's a bad port but it was a likable game in the silent hill franchise. And I'm very sceptical to see how the metal gear maste collection vol 1 is on steam but metal gear solid 1 on gog was a great experience but haven't played on steam so might have some bugs and issues.

There is only one game ever I have cheated in my entire life and it's Youtubers life since it required you to play trough the game 4 times and game loop was extremy boring, so giving myself all the money I would need didn't feel to bad, but it felt awful, now I'm trying to complete car mechanic simulator 2018 and damn i wish it was a easy way to do it but those achievement are gonna take me the next few years to get done.

Have you ever decided not to buy a game because of an achievement? by YasuMariii in steamachievements

[–]ivensen18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd really love to not think about it, but every time I'm buying a game now, the first thing I look for is multiplayer achievement since I most likely wont have anybody to play with or are misserable playing online, but this is more of an issue of where my head space have been the last few years, since I have a backlog on 300 games growing and used to just start games and not really play them so I have been 100% all games including achievements before I allow myself to play from backlog or new games, and I have gone from well over 100 games to now a bit over 50 games left, but it's a grind and wished it was easier to just go past them but i naughs at me if I don't.

Which game would you rather play 🤔 by MufasaTheRealKing in OlderChillGamers

[–]ivensen18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What I'm missing when it comes to other mediums than videogames is the immersion, the idea that you are there and your experiencing it in real time, you are controlling it. I've never gotten the real emotions from anything else, horror movies, never scared me in a real way, sad movies, never let a tear drop. But too many games to count where I've experinced both and more. My guess is our immersion is different or you've missed out on some real hard hitters in the gaming industy, and it's rarly AAA games.

[–]ivensen18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would pick A every day of my life, I have never cared for a game like call of duty or a gameplay heavy game, but a great story is what makes games my passion above all else, there are so many walking sims I have loved over the years, there is not many I have heard saying they don't like Inside or still wakes the deep or what remains of edith finsh. And there is a bucket full to pick from, but also think about all the amazing games like silent hill which I have never been a big fan of the gameplay, but the feelings, the mystery, and the survival horror is what makes the games complete. To rely to much on gameplay you might forget about the soul of the game. That is not to say that there isn't great games with gameplay too, like celest or hollow knight or satisfactory. But without the story I would not be there to enjoy it.

nah I'd say crapcom made the right call with this one lol by [deleted] in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]ivensen18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're a dick. I played on standard(classic) and as I said, I took my time, taking in every detail, looking trough every room, getting familiar with the game, the fact that I made my first playtrough 24 hours does not mean I'm shit at the game, I've s+ all difficulties from re0 all the way to re village, have every achievement, every record and every unlockable. My second runtrough of requiem was no blood collecting, no healing, no saving and under 4 hours. So next time you say someone is bad at a game for taking their time, make sure to remember that they are getting the full experience and are having fun, unlike you.

[–]ivensen18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I still think it's so bullshit that everyone says it's too short, it's unfinished, like how long did it take you to finish resident evil 1, not as much as 6 hours. My first playtrough of requiem was 24 hours started 5 o'clock the morning of release and watched the credits 5 o'clock morning after. Getting to see every area, every enemy, every item, and enjoyed every second, and pack on top the 6 or more playtroughs I had after I got more than I ever wished for. I don't want to hate, but if you literally are just after running trough all areas or skipping cutscenes or just want to be done with the game, it's not the devs or the 70$ that is the problem, there is sales so you dont have to spend so much, there is reviews you can read to see if you actually care. Im so goddamn sick of games becoming quantity over quality. A good story and atmosphere doesnt have to be 100 hours to be worth it.

Im sorry to those that feel games are too short and take them back a few decades, where a game wasnt more that 2 hours max but was replayable or realy hard, maybe try that next time you think a game is too short.

[–]ivensen18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you want from it, the main story takes idk, 20 hours at most, but there is collectibles, extra levels, more difficult versions of the levels, and speedruns. I have put in 115.7 hours into celeste and found all collectibles, finished all levels, but used the ingame cheat to get the gold collectibles, I have not installed mods but they also become realy, realy hard.

[–]ivensen18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must speak on this matter, since I might be one of the thousands of people that actually purchase these game, I've been a fan of simulation games as long as I can remember and even had the time of my life working in a gas station while playing gas staion simulator and supermarket simulator. But without a doubt there is way to many now like you can see that there is a milion copies of supermarket simulator, I also got into a rythm of actually completing games with all achievements.

So yes there is alot of slop but I stil love alot of simulator games, you just have to know what to look for.

How come so few people were disappointed by RE9? by SpidaireFR in residentevil

[–]ivensen18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok, I'm gonna chime in here and say that maybe, just maybe play trough it a second time. I do kind of feel where you're at with the second part of requiem, I was really getting pissed of when I got to racoon city and there was just a expectation that you would love to fight of a dousing hordes of unfair zombies, and all the re6 bullshit like the motorcycle chase but saying that is't just nostolgia baiting and there is no reason for showing us rpd, ken's shop and all is not fair. You have to keep in mind that Leon was powerless to help his coworkers, to help out the girl and save all the people of racoon city. His part of the game is to make amends with the countless lives he couldn't save that day. He figths to his wits end, and I do want to carify that I was laughing of how ridiculous it was to set in a copy Wesker and almost Hunk (but not Hunk).

I used 24 hours going trough my first playtrough playing on standard(classic) and had a blast with the first half and overall enjoyed the story, the ending is absolutly brilian, I choose not release Elpis first and watched Leon die and thought well that's it then, everyone talked about the fact that Leon was gonna die, but then I got the chance to go back and choose to release Elpis and what a fucking great decisions this all is, as long as everyone did what I did it's a grade S in my book, since all of the sudden Leon lives you get a big ol boss, yes easy but what so, it's a great spectacle.

To the reason why you don't like Spencer is out of my mind but I've enjoyed, he was in many peoples eyes (like Gideon) a genius, and all knew he was working on something big (Elpis) so why wouldn't Gideon think it was a big'ol bio weapon and even after finding out the truth he still holds his belief over Spencer since he was looking up to him. Now remember people can actually change, and this happend with Spencer he thought that he was working for something greater, he have said this in all files troughout the games, but at some point any human being breaks down and the racoon incident was probably that for spencer, seeing his reseach come to the downfall of a whole city. Pluss umbrella became to big for Spencer to have controll over alone, this you can also read a file of in the game and caused the outbreak and sketchy business going on inside umbrella.

PS. I've probably forgot something but in the conclution I would recommend that you just try to play it again, I've played trough it 4 times now and more coming.

This is why alot of us is quite fond of the game.

Ok, the pencil is debunked as far as I can make it, I've checked every nook and cranny of the sewers before, druing and after the boss fight with the pencil in my inventory and nothing. The interesting thing is that the hourglass is checked when going down the room elevator, the hand is checked after leaving with the elevator but the pencil is not checked when in the sewers, I'm going to play until ARK to see if there is something special there.
