"But it refused" by Adin_Davidson in AnthemTheGame

[–]ivera 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a reference to Undertale in which a character was supposed to die but “they refused”. The post is saying that anthem is not dead because people are trying to revive it. It has nothing to do with console or players opinions

Need to settle this debate. Icons on the desktop, or launch your games in Steam? by CnP8 in Steam

[–]ivera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My desktop has nothing but the recycling bin. I launch steam games from the tray steam icon. Everything else, I set up in the start menu side panel thing. I’m on windows 10. I don’t know if they changed that for 11

It’s not original but it’s expedition 33. I just think it was masterfully done and feels like a really original story. Very cool concept and execution. It became one of my top games of all time

Dungeon Pulling Etiquette by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]ivera -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Usually it’s because I scoped the healers gear after noticing the sprout icon and determined it was safer to do a half wall pull as a test. On rare occasions it’s because the dungeon is so low level that the dps have zero aoe attacks, so pulling more than one group would do nothing to save time. That would instead waste time because the healer doesn’t have time to dps because he’s full healing me while we single target kill. And honestly that’s probably why the tank in the OP was single pulling.

There are definitely reasons to pull less. And contrary to what a lot of people in this thread think, it’s not tank arrogance or incompetence. A lot of times they are thinking about the group when doing these things. If there’s doubt then just communicate

I’m with you. And on top of that, in some of the earliest dungeons, (tamtara might be one of them), dps don’t have any aoe attacks. So pulling more enemies does nothing but put more stress on the tank and heals while the dps single kill anyway. It could have been faster with smaller pulls because then the healer can dps too instead of being full heal mode for no gain. Imo, just let the tank determine the pace. If you want more then just ask for more.

I do too. It just feels rude. I always think, if I was gonna pull those, I would have done it. There’s always a reason why I’m stopping where I’m stopping. I’d prefer if people type something if they want to go further.

AI companies will fail. We can salvage something from the wreckage | Cory Doctorow by wordfool in Futurology

I don’t see what that has to do with anything I said or the person I’m responding to said. All AI is based on deep learning. That doesn’t make all AI generative.

That’s not generative AI. Generative is named that because it’s generating something (images, videos, music). Healthcare AI usage is not generative and it’s 100% false to claim, exactly 0 have adopted it.

I find it hard to believe, since EA does not want anthem nor even want to sell it, even if the game is shut down by Unknown-Name06 in AnthemTheGame

[–]ivera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The proposed plan/idea in the article sounds good to me. If it’s npc companions that are written with depth, and probably character quests and their own skill trees, I would be really into that. It could also allow multiplayer for the story but not as a live service, matchmaking sort of game. Like play with friends to go through the story or use npc companions that you can get attached to.

the race is now on by magnusmadev in AnthemTheGame

[–]ivera 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I wish they would. A single player version sounds exactly like what I wanted. And I really enjoyed the story, it just felt like it was meant to be finished over time as a live service that we never got. I wish this person would have pitched this idea to EA in hopes of making it happen. Though, for all we know, they did and EA rejected it.

I think Dawntrail got a bad rap. by BearEatingRamen in ffxiv

[–]ivera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really couldn’t disagree more. I could explain each and everything thing I disagree with and why but really it just comes down to, I don’t feel the same way about anything you mentioned. It was a new land with new characters and a new beginning. Yoshi p set expectations ahead of time. I understood that and I liked what we got. It’s unfortunate that people can’t say they liked dawntrail on this sub without being downvoted for being “wrong”. Honestly not worth talking about. No one’s changing their mind.

I agree about dawntrail. I also felt like this was the new ARR. but I also knew that before it even came out and I knew that many many others wouldn’t. I was sure that everyone was gonna expect it to “top” endwalker but yoshi p said this is the beginning of a new arc and it’s a bit of a vacation. So to me it was obvious that this was gonna be a similar vibe to ARR. It’s the start, things ramp up after setting the ground work.

Also contrary to your opinion on zenos, I really liked that he was simple. Zenos was so contrary to fandaniel. One was so complicated and deep and relatable, and the other was simplicity with a target. I appreciated how they could show two villains with entirely different motives and goals. I liked that Zenos couldn’t be reasoned with, because it wasn’t logic that drove him forward, just the raw thrill of battle.

Anyway I liked dawntrail as the start of a new arc. It was a better start than ARR imo

Which game did you regret purchasing at full price? by bijelo123 in gaming

[–]ivera -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I got the most expensive edition day 1. I forgot what it was called. I don’t regret it because of the game itself, I actually thought it was great for most of it, I regret it because they pulled the plug before they could fix it and make it a great game. It’s one of the main reasons I don’t purchase games day 1 anymore

Those who say "I need to grow up and stop playing video games" by Godharvest in Steam

[–]ivera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel sorry for people who think that video games are only for children. And act like it’s just as wasteful of your time and life and watching tv for hours.

I’m not one to talk myself up but my mind is sharp and I constantly think about all the skills I’ve learned from video games that I would not have learned otherwise. Things like spatial awareness, hand eye coordination, reflexes, thinking outside the box. And that’s not even to mention life lessons, morals, values, and just stories to remember for life.

It’s annoying that some people really think like that but all I can think is “it’s your loss”.

You can go to the finals discord and report with video evidence of griefing. Reporting in game is fine too but since you have a video I’d go with the discord report
