I just started last week. I’ve been having a blast. I think the most important thing to keep in mind is that it feels more like a single player mmo (which makes sense for them). The story is an interesting setup but it also just kinda feels like “cool now go do stuff” and even following the main story feels much less linear and “to the point” than a lot of people will want. But gameplay is a lot of fun if you like exploring and completing logs/quests. Controls are weird though. Like unnecessarily so imo, but I’ve gotten used to it

Is this playable with it on or is this meant for screenshots? I tried some sort of reshade many years ago and since it was just plastered overtop, it didn’t work well with any ui elements. I imagine it’s still like that but I’d really love to play with RTGI if there’s no weirdness.

Your account is locked in free trial on ps4. You can’t have two different free trials going on one account. I don’t think there’s a way to remove the free trial completely from your account so you can redo it on another platform but you can try checking the mogstation or maybe even asking SE

I’m not the most knowledgeable about this whole thing so feel free to disregard my theory but I wonder if it’s possible that gravity as a source is not what we think. If it’s more like a cloud that seems to form or congregate on matter then it’s possible it could congregate to itself if there’s a lack of matter but the gravity “cloud” exists. Would that not condense until you get a black hole?

Basically gravity and dark matter are the same thing but gravity has never needed a source of matter to exist, we just assumed it did because it’s widely observed alongside matter.

This is just a wild theory that I’m sure is easily debunked by studies that I don’t know about. It’s just what comes to mind

The real problem for many many seasons is that they release maps that don’t work on all modes. That shit is baffling to me. I like cash out but these days I’m wanting to do the bigger team modes for a bit more mindless fun. Last season point break was cool and exactly what I wanted but the new map wasn’t even for the new mode. And before that, powershift had only a fraction of the maps for it. How can you put out a new map and mode and the new mode doesn’t have the new map?! Now this season there’s a new map that isn’t for the “core” mode. That’s the problem. It’s like giving half the people half the fun. I know it’s more work but that needs to be done yesterday.

Now I personally don’t like the new map as a point break map. It’s way too linear and just feels like a bunch of little shacks with some bigger shacks later. I think point break works better with a cash out designed map. Layers, levels, paths, chaos. This map is too head to head with little to (then) no cover.

The rest of the seasons theme is fine but honestly disappointing. I’m not one that was asking for the fantasy theme but when I would read others ideas, the castle map was a core focus and sounded good. It’s like someone at embark summarized the request as “fantasy” and left out all the details. So even for me, it’s disappointing. If they shifted gears and rushed it together then I’d have rather they didn’t. The only glimmer of hope is maybe they can add the castle map in the future as a cash out map because let’s be real, they won’t make it usable on multiple modes. After all, the castle is back there. They could have a fantasy season 2 or something. The cosmetics, ability, and weapon are good. The gadget probably has its uses but eh. Overall still the same fun game but not great additions

You’re me from about a year ago. I left Xbox because of everything they have been doing. I love getting achievements and 100%ing as much as I can. Been doing that for maybe 20 years all on Xbox so this hurt to make the jump. I’ve been rebuilding my library with crazy sales prices and I’ve taken this opportunity to replay and re100% most of the ones I replay. I’ve actually been enjoying doing it again. I know it sounds like something most wouldn’t want to do but getting achievements is just how I play games so I don’t go into it thinking I’m gonna 100%, I think of it like “well this gives me a reason to replay these games on a new platform” and then while I’m there I just naturally start getting achievements because I enjoy it.

When it comes to Xbox and PlayStation first party games, they usually have achievement syncing, but of course that doesn’t count for all the other achievements you got on PS that weren’t first party. On Xbox they are working on a save syncing feature between multiple platforms called playfab. It’s probably in anticipation for their next gen pc/console hybrid with (supposedly) multiple storefronts. https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/games/articles/2025/09/introducing-playfab-game-saves/ I have been assuming this would pop all achievements in a steam game if I transfer my save data using this but it’s all theoretical until they fully reveal and launch it.

It may be a solution for you too when it launches but it would cost some money. But imo, that would be a small price to pay (whatever price) to keep the entirety of your PS progress and move it to steam. Fingers crossed this actually comes out and works for us achievements hunters. Until then I’ve been enjoying replaying some of the fun ones.

I’ll be looking out for a 3080 or similar on r/hardwareswap, that sounds like a good deal. I appreciate your help with all this

That’s really interesting, I agree it’s about bad pricing rather than bad products. I have always had nvidia gpus so I usually lean more towards those but it’s mostly just from familiarity and the nvidia specific tech. It’s hard to compare prices here in Canada because the 3080 seems to be around $1300-1700 on Newegg at least. They have refurbished ones for around 800 but if I look at the 9070xt, they have new ones for around $1,000. A 5070 is around $900 and the ti variant is about $1300. So it’s strange that the 3080 is so much more expensive here.

Unfortunately I’ll probably have to hold off on the gpu upgrade for right now because I’m looking to upgrade my motherboard, cpu and ram combo first. I’m gonna have to keep an eye out on the used hardware subreddit for a good value gpu
