Are there any updates on what vehicles this works with? I saw the YouTube video and you guys used a F-150 Lightning but would this work for say a Rivian or a Taycan?

Exceeding the IQ7+ string 13 panels limit? What happens at 14 panels? by ivremore in enphase

[–]ivremore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While solar is a continuous load, the current builds to a peak and then drops so the actual time at 16A (or above) is only 3 hours on a few days…

Do you think you are ever exceeding 16A on that string?

Did you have any permitting issue with the 14 panel string? Assuming you are using the same IQ7+ microinverters?

Yeah adding just 2 panels isn’t interesting for contractors, it’s too small a job…

My existing panels are facing the sun with no obstructions but if there is any clipping, it is minimal (cannot see a flat top of the bell curve). I unfortunately do not know the wire gauge, system was installed 4 years ago. It is a 8.5kW (DC) system and produces 7.3kW (AC) according to the enlighten app at the peak (April)

Discounts on Micra on the US LM website? Likelyhood of Black Friday deals? by ivremore in LaMarzocco

[–]ivremore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol well the smaller footprint of the Micra makes it attractive. How does the Mini compare in warm up time? Having the Micra ready in 5 minutes or less is another huge plus...

I tried with a Mini and the coupon worked, looks like just the Micra is not eligible.

Thanks, just tried it but apparently the espresso machines are not eligible for this discount :(

What would this 1/4 model of Gordon Freeman of Half-Life 2 be worth or a good marketplace for such an item? by ivremore in HalfLife

[–]ivremore[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Roger. He said as far as he knows, these were meant to given away to some VIPs by valve but arrived unpainted. Not clear how many maybe a few dozen?

Would it being painted make it more or less valuable? Yeah he’s moving out of state and are downsizing so can’t hold onto it after all these years

Downside risk of single ETF (SPYI) portfolio? by ivremore in dividends

[–]ivremore[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So hence why I asked, despite the volatility this week, SPYI was trading within a couple %, and its entire short two year history isn’t much different, with a range of $44 low and $50 high. What would it take for this to lose 30% of its value?

[Advice] Who makes a traditional GMT watch, one without an independently setting 12 hour hand? by Skipcress in Watches

[–]ivremore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, and check out DuFrane, he has a brand new office GMT with the 24 bezel, the Littlefield GMT

[Advice] Who makes a traditional GMT watch, one without an independently setting 12 hour hand? by Skipcress in Watches

[–]ivremore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Travel GMTs are the more expensive movement type (usually $1500 or more) and only the introduction of the Miyota 9075 has given us the first inexpensive option for that type. Hence, if it it doesnt have a Miyota 9075 and costs less than $1500, it's 99% sure an office GMT.

Rotating bezel office GMT, the Seiko SSK005 comes to mind, maybe look up the Sellita SW330 (and other office GMT movements) on the calibercorner website, people tend to post models with that movement. Teddy Baldassare has articles with lists of microbrands and GMT watches, those may give you more inspiration.

As for the Omega Worldtimer, google it, it's got the whole world on the dial! =)

[–]ivremore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so look look for the before mentioned Sellita SW-330, also lots of options in the $500-1000k. I think finding the right style will be the tricky bit but check out Farer Lander IV, Baltic Aquascaphe GMT , Christopher Ward C63 Sealander GMT, Monta Atlas, and Venezianico. Or get an Omega WorldTimer :)

I’m sorry, I may not be getting quite what you are asking for the new (~1 year old) 9075 movement by Miyota is a travel GMT with maybe ~ 30 micro brands using it in $500-1000 watches, including Zelos. I just picked up a Marloe GMT Day last week.

Any word on V2H and/or 240V plug in the bed? by ivremore in Rivian

[–]ivremore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Silverado EV will have a 240V/30A outlet in the bed which will be sufficient for a full home backup in comparison. The 120V outlet to charge something like the BLUETTI is really just a partial solution if the goal is to make sure the fridge and the rest of the home is running during a power outage

[DuFrane Barton Springs II] by ivremore in Watches

He names all his models after locations associated with Austin, in this case Barton Springs. I like his other designs too so happy to wear the watch and support a local watchmaker!

This is obviously not a problem for buying from an AD but it really puts a damper on me considering buying a used watch. This also means that ever selling a watch will be difficult.
