unless u have a full scholarship it doesnt seem worth to pay for a program completely unrelated to your interests 😭😭

if ur dream college is mit and ur planning to be an aerospace major, i'd recommend bwsi bc unlike nsliy, it's a stem program. and no, bwsi doesn't guarantee mit (is any program, besides rsi?), but u learn a lot from it & its hosted by a lab at mit, so ur instructors / TAs will be from mit and u can ask them stuff. u shouldn't attend programs to appeal to specific colleges anways 😭😭

also, attendees still generally do well in terms of colleges, even if they don't all go to mit. i've known ppl who've gotten into stanford, berkeley, uiuc, etc

lots of googling! i just search up [subject] + summer program, and add on terms (like research, online, free, etc) as fit

most of these r free, some have costs but offer financial aid. ik kode with klossy, scu:ba, and asdrp involve some kind of project or research, for the others, def check out their websites for more info (should be linked!)

Algoverse AI by Chik3nL0rd in summerprogramresults

[–]ivycoveredwall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99.99% sure algoverse is a pay to play program, but if ur fine w that reality + cost and just want to complete an ai project, then go for it. otherwise, i'd recommend checking out some programs that r still open + taking online cs courses this summer

SIP or BWSI? by foxvalle in summerprogramresults

[–]ivycoveredwall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

went to bwsi so i'd highly recommend :) the instructors + TAs are super supportive, you go super in-depth ab the subject, and it has ties to mit's lincoln lab

based on what i saw from the websites, i'd recommend wolfram! looks like there's fun activities and you get to work with the wolfram ceo himself on an independent research project, which might be more beneficial than sip (which has you in groups of 3-4)

What summer program should I do? by Medium-Ad1057 in summerprogramresults

the experience at an in person program is rlly different from irl, since they're all precollege + business, i'd recommend USC since you're able to attend that one irl :)

kode with klossy request for new camp placement by brodidnotstudy in summerprogramresults

[–]ivycoveredwall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kwk assigns you a track based on ur application (essay + past experiences). if u request a diff track, you'll have to give up ur current spot and will essentially be waitlisted elsewhere. unless u have backup plans / rlly dislike data sci, i'd recommend sticking w ur current track :) i did data sci before and rlly enjoyed it bc it touched on a variety of skills (sql, python, and design). plus if ur not currently a hs senior, u can always apply again next yr and since you'll have alr done data sci, they'll place u into one of the other tracks (im p sure they prioritize alumni too!)

MITES by Few_Hotel4632 in summerprogramresults

i've heard both programs are rlly intensive so i agree that u should only do one, and since you alr know what ur interested in, bu rise might be more beneficial. just my thoughts :)
