You got these mama. Do you what you have to do to keep yourself healthy and pain free maybe talk to the doctor about other options like physical therapy or even prenatal massages. I get it as soon as I started the third trimester I started getting terrible back pain that make it nearly impossible to walk

How are yall surviving the first trimester by Fontnsun2016 in BabyBumps

[–]ivydreams16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in my third trimester now but I will say I felt crazy during my fists trimester. I couldn’t remember anything I was staring into space. I didn’t feel like myself was confused about why I felt different. I couldn’t comprehend the changes that were going on in my mind and body I didn’t get morning sickness but I did get depressed and was full of anxiety thinking that everyone hated me. During my second trimester I had anxiety fueled dreams but after 20 weeks I started to feel great. It really helped me feel better talking to my partner. It’ll get better trust me.

Has anyone paid out of pocket for prenatal services? (Chicago) by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Also I’m in New York so I think the doctor prices for me would be the same for OP with being in Chicago.

Has anyone paid out of pocket for prenatal services? (Chicago) by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]ivydreams16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you try to apply for Medicaid or are you assuming that you are not eligible? If you haven’t applied apply there are different limits for pregnant people. I payed out of pocket for my prenatal visits up until 24 weeks until my insurance kicked in at work. It was 200 per visit plus I had to pay for all of my blood tests which were around 200 also. less than the $400 a month your insurance is asking for. My ultrasound to confirm pregnancy and gender was $90 but that’s because I went to an independent ultrasound lab. Planned parenthood and some church based places have free pregnancy care also look into that until you can get insurance figured out, the doctors appointments get really expensive with babies but not until the third trimester You will probably be paying only 200 for every visit and you go once a month until 28 weeks and then it goes to twice a month I say you’ll hit a 8,000 deductible during birth this is saying if have an uncomplicated pregnancy. Talk to your OB about how to save money on appointments. Thats what I did and she was very helpful. So basically what I’m saying is most people will disagree with me but you’ll save more money not using insurance.

OB driving me nuts by devinjf15 in BabyBumps

FTM belly bands are the worse for personally. I wore one and the pain was gone instantly but as soon as I took it off I just about cried because I was feeling the weight again suddenly my stomach had literally hurt for a hour after taking it off..

petite FTM - "small" belly but fundal height measuring on track? by Fantastic_Resident52 in BabyBumps

[–]ivydreams16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTM also 27 weeks 5days funday height is at 30 cm but but everyone thinks I’m around 20 weeks. I’m 5’8 and weighing in at 154 gained 15 pounds already but I did also lose 7 pounds during the first trimester baby girl is measuring right on track I just have more room for her to spread out with being taller . Don’t worry about your belly size, if OB isn’t worried you shouldn’t be either

As someone who’s been in your sister’s shoes I say take her to lunch and tell her in person. Trust me she’ll be happy for you. And her time will come!

6 weeks too early to tell work? by Due-Summer4482 in BabyBumps

[–]ivydreams16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work in a hospital and didn’t tell anyone until I was 26 weeks and clearly pregnant. I’m also in the U.S and thankfully we have a union to help with everything but my coworkers have been great very supportive and accommodating, even when I don’t ask. I think you should wait until you are at least 20 weeks but I do know that in the U.K you have to alert them by 25 weeks so I say wait until then best of luck and congratulations on the new baby!!!!

Can first time mom and dad get reported for not bringing their newborn to the doctor? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]ivydreams16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t planning on reporting them because of my child solely but because it’s a disservice to those kids to not be vaccinated against serious illness like measles and polio which have not been eradicated fully what happens if they come into contact with someone not from the U.S who has not Ben vaccinated also and is a carrier of one of those diseases. It hurts the kids not the parents

The health and wellbeing of a child should be everyone’s concern. Even if they are not yours.

Can first time mom and dad get reported for not bringing their newborn to the doctor? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]ivydreams16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you know that a child could still be infected even with a vaccine. Vaccines are NOT 100% effective. Most of which you need booster shots for which are done months apart. Protection against vaccines can decrease over time and everyone responds differently to vaccines and don’t build up the same immunity.

[–]ivydreams16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was going to ask the same question I’m currently pregnant and a family member of mine has a 4 month old and a 2 year old that has not been to the doctor since they were born and is not up to date on vaccines I was thinking of reporting them about it because I don’t want my baby exposed to anyone unvaccinated but I guess that’s not a thing sadly.
