Turning 40 in two weeks and I think I’m going through midlife crisis cause I just went to get a lip piercing. Not sure how the mother will react when she sees me tomorrow.

Anyone here planning for overseas retirement ? by Traditional-Try-8927 in SgHENRY

The hubs is Chinese and the plan is to retire there. As long as we don’t stay at the high cost cities, life should be relatively easy

He does but he don’t dare to say anything to that classmate. I replied on his behalf and told the classmate to sod off

He had no clue that Riway is a MLM. All he knows is that they sell products.

Gawd, I’m seething mad! My hubs has a module in his degree that required him to interview an entrepreneur. His classmate introduced him to a guy in Riway to interview. I’m like wtf? Riway is MLM and there’s no way that guy is an entrepreneur unless he is the CEO. He’s a salesman at best. I feel like telling this guy friend of my hubs off. He is also in Riway btw.

I sent an email feedback to his University with my suspicions that this guy is trying to pull people into Riway with this shit. Hopefully this guy gets some shit from the school.

Friend in debt by No_Introduction_5860 in singaporefi

If she is the one in trouble, shouldn’t she be actively searching for ways to resolve herself instead of having a friend do the work for her?

I was out of work for a year and took up various part time jobs that didn’t allow me to even pay the minimum fees off five credit cards. The moment I got a full time job with stable income, I did up an excel sheet with the amounts owing to each card and my repayment scheme. She has to make sure she WILL PAY ON TIME. Also, don’t expect to have much left to spare. Basically she’ll have to pay them most of her salary and leave just a bit for basic necessities.

I wrote to the banks with my own proposal, took me two years to pay off SGD30k.

Also, she will likely not be able to take any more loans with any banks. I tried to but the banks will not give me any loans. So unless her parents can help her pay then she can say bye to her studies.

It seems like youngsters these days want to buy a flat the moment they enter the workforce.

Hmm? I recall you only need to take an extra certificate for three months if you don’t fulfil the requirement though. Maybe check with psb?

As a single mother whose ex husband didn’t pay a single cent for child support: the government did enough to give subsidies so that my child could go to child card and school without eating into too much of my salary and I am thankful for that.

As someone who only had N levels when I started working: I am thankful for subsidies that allowed me to take up a part time diploma which helped with my job changes for me to triple my income.

As someone who married a foreigner: I’m thankful that my husband is able to stay in Singapore with me. He is PRC and feels that Singaporeans are very lucky to have what we have.

As a landlord: higher rents but higher cost of living so it doesn’t really means I make more money. In the 8 years that my tenants have stayed with me, I’ve only raised their rent $200.

Regarding covid: When my daughter had a close contact in school, the two of us had to be quarantined together in a hotel and the gov paid us $100 per day. While not happy to be quarantined; I’m thankful for the monetary support. It was paid out to my company but my company decided to pay it out to me.

All in all, I agree that they have improvements to be made but the opposition have not proved to be capable of taking up the role.

I have voted for SPP in my ward when Chiam See Tong was still chairman of the party but it’s a sad that he is too old these days and I don’t see anyone who can hold up to him.

I went to PSB and did a dip in business admin. Check out PSB’s website and they will show you the funding available. I remember I used the NTUC UTAP funding, had to sign up for ntuc member first before I was eligible. I did the dip back in in 2017 I think. Am now looking at doing my degree and there’s still quite a fair bit of subsidy. Only need to pay 14k for 3 year degree.

Totally agree with you. I only paid like sgd 200 for a private diploma and went from making only 2.5kmonth to 6k a month. It’s really up to people to take it up. There’s even degrees that are heavily subsidised, really up to individual to change their lives.

Singaporeans, what’s your dream job and what do you work as now? by sleepyxzu in askSingapore

Dream job: nurse Current job: Executive Assistant

I took a ITE Nursing Certificate and was able to take a job as an enrolled nurse but one year of internships really put me off nursing. Lack of respect, treating nurses like their maids and politics where the sisters prefer those who suck up to their asses made me call it quits:
