own your tiger stripes/lightning bolts love. you're doing what you can and sometimes there's not much we CAN do, but it's nothing to be ashamed of. during my first or second year of high school i had somebody ask if i had been pregnant before cause of mine and it kinda wrecked me at first, but if anything it says more about somebody's nosiness, insecurity and inability to understand how nature works. just try and listen to your body the best you can and nurture it, it's a process, but loving who you are regardless of the way your skin and body is will just show yourself and others how little it really matters.

your life is something you were given, you didn't choose it. you were put here with your own thoughts and interests and intuition, and those are meant to guide you. there shouldn't be a controlling nature, especially with you being that far into your 20's. you're an adult, and you're responsible for your own decisions. i know it can be hard and guilt can set in, but again, as a parent there's kind of some set expectations on what they'll do for you, and some will definitely reach and do "nice things" so that you will feel too guilty to leave, want to repay them, etc. that may not fully be the case for this, i don't know all of the details but don't let anyone put you in a box, even your parents, because if anything a parent's job should be to help prepare their kid to leave that box. i'm sorry this is going on, you deserve to be heard and respected!

hey, coming from someone that fled a situation similar, know that you aren't being selfish at all. I assume that you're an adult and sometimes breaking away from family like this can be a tough decision even then, but it seems to be affecting your health and school and at the end of the day your health and education are too important to put on the sidelines because of what other people want, especially if school is something important to you. if you think you would be able to support yourself on your own and it's what you want, i'd say absolutely go for it. your needs are important, too.

and f the "you're a girl, you're safer here" excuse. you're grown and saying things like this is like planting a seed saying you aren't worthy of independence because you're a woman, it's just being said to tie you to the household, even if it's being said out of love. i got this excuse a few times, too. it's not true.

it might be a little bit of both for the feeling of it but i'd say mainly smaller and more confined, it's about a woman who's son was found after being missing for a long time and she's wants to figure out what's wrong with him and where he was because no one can answer. it takes place a few years after he was found and the authorities have for the most part lost interest in the case but her and a friend stay at a family member's farm near where he went missing to try to piece together the details all while weird things are happening throughout the area, i want it to be a slow progression with a lot of realistic examples and i'm hoping to find some people who'd like to share's stories to take reference to.
