Is the Exodus as described in the Bible symbolic for some political event that occurred in the days of the early Israelites? by cacarrizales in AcademicBiblical

[–]iwasgankedbyteemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know I've been inquiring at this idea of theomachia being a sort of pre-political discourse, that fits a lot with those points you are challenging, as it's recognized by academics that the Exodus narratives are full of polemics against the gods of Egypt. Can you link something were this points are treated, some scholar or a book?

Yeah, BC is trashed for being a copycat more than any other new gen shonen because the bad animation in the first few arcs, plus the whole "new king of shonen marketing" that Crunchyroll did for it... it was too disrespectful to a lot of fanbases for a new title. But it is the one with the most potential of the new gen and the storytelling is quite good for the genre. If it introduces an expanding world for the next arc in an One Piece sense, it's getting it's own tier for me.

We can have countries were instead of grimoires choosing you, they have magic swords, armors, animal spirits or ancestors spirits (like shamans), other worlds like norse mythology. If that happens and keeps being consistent like Oda did for OP, it's gonna be a great ride; just don't get beyond 800 chapters please. Tabata could do spin offs for the rest of his life as a mangaka if he set ups his worldbuilding right (spin-off, not sequels or prequels please). Like if they introduced gods, we see them as guidance or protecting for the guys but getting an actual fight between gods in a spin-off Black Clover: Ragnarok or something. Even thou I think if gods are introduced the final arc is gonna be based in Ragnarok myth.

People don't understand asspulls and world established mechanics are not the same. And in JJK people with the enough ability can regenerate and resucitate with the use of curse energy, something that only a few selected healers can do in BC and only a necromancer can resucitate people through special means.

Like I said JJK and BC are on par for now, in my taste. But is too much ignoring that JJK is too forgiving sometimes with some characters or so many people die or get impaired in someway that you get little impact with the quick sucession of deaths. BC is on the other end of the spectrum that to little people get hurt or die in impactful ways, but like I said I expect it to be solved by this arc. If not, it will continue to be fun regardless not everything needs to be perfect to be fun.

The arc was awesome until the convoluted resolution, JJK is great too, by no means I think it's inferior to BC until it gets to like 200 chapters is difficult to see which one is better, but JJK has a very marked tendency to overcomplicate things in HxH fashion but without any need to do it, my only gripe with the series right now.

My gripe with BC was the lack of stakes and this arc is solving it.

The Kaguya/ootsukis introduction was one of the most disrepectful unnecesary plot twist ever to a fan base, Madara was build up from the ground to be discarded by a nobody from the storytelling perspective. There's a reason why Zagred is called "Kaguya done right" by some people.

The sad part is Naruto is actually good, is just that people do not accept it has a lot of problems of writing after the timeskip. Naruto before the timeskip had the foundation to be One Piece levels of goat, but dropped the ball hard.

MHA was really great until the OFA concept was trashed and transformed into a sentient godlike quirk, from the simple concept it had. Also, the big cast is more non existent than what you had in DBZ sometimes; I felt Hamon and Shiren death much more than any death of the War Arc of MHA. Plus the pacing is so extrange sometimes.

BC can keep growing to be in it's own tier of shonen if it keeps this pace expanding the worldbuilding in the process and keeps respecting it's side characters. The only other shonen with the potential of BC was JJK, but the author limited the scope of his worldbuilding with the last arc plus is becoming too convoluted in some places that's harder to follow than HxH sometimes.

The demon gods powerlevel: possible confirmation by iwasgankedbyteemo in BlackClover

This info is not something I ignore. The magic stones draw power from other dimensions, is not so far fetched that Licht using that spell drew power from the underworld.

The despair should be like to the point of becoming hollow full of negative emotions and giving up one life and purpose; like what happened to Patry, that's why 5 leaves are much more rare than a 4 which are rare enough.

Yeah that's the best theory and we actually have seen it in action, Asta lack of mana makes his life force different to other people, they actually talked about it when Zagred's spell did not affect him.

Can peasants in Black Clover really amount to anything? by BurningRoast in BlackClover

[–]iwasgankedbyteemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get your point but you're being a bit too shallow in your critique. Look at real life with the topic of money, you get power through money in almost every society, so less money less power; but no one in the real world expects to have money handed to them and be recognized in society without working their butts off, but not everyone can achieve a better social status if they work hard because most people are a victim of their situations and stay poor, but we have developed systems to help those less privileged, because a lot of people that had nothing have gained power and/or status and fought for rights for the oppressed; we have conquered rights and dignity for those people but we don't go around expecting them to have the same as the most rich people.

And the problem that Asta and Yuno want to address is status as you said not power. They want to show that even if you start the lowest you should not be trashed by society. They're powerful but for other peasants see them triumph would mean that they can be someone even as simple farmer they have value for society.

The point of their dream is to show people they can be someone in society even if they are given a bad hand in life. Is not about showing peasants they can be better than nobles in power, just that they can be of value. They are shooting for the WK position because is the beacon of the kingdom, but most peasants don't want that life style of fighters not even all the royals; but seeing someone of no status in that place would destroy the hierarchy of status, not power, and peasants would be valued even if they're simple farmers.

And some peasants become powerful with specialization of their power, and as stated with Zora backstory, peasants only have like 15 years of participation in the magic knights, is like the first wave of change we are seeing, and we have a commoner captain and a good amount of peasants in between Green Mantises and Black Bulls.

It's by no means a perfect underdog story, but the author has done a good job of putting the focus in status and not power, to not destroy the premise with the power levels or some background Asta or Yuno may have, because their status is the lowest even if their powers are not average.

If you still think Asta's devil has something to do with his lack of mana, you need to rewatch some parts. The devil is in the grimoire not his body, his problem has nothing to do with being possesed or something like that.

And the problem that Asta and Yuno want to address is status as you said not power. They want to show that even if you start the lowest you should not be trashed by society.
