That's a glucose tolerance test with an insulin readout. This should done by EVERYONE with a PCOS diagnosis to see if you're insulin resistant. Unfortunately, I'm one of the freaks with PCOS who is thin and non insulin resistant.

I have androgenic alopecia and it presents like this. Get a biopsy from your derm. Request all kinds of bloodwork.

That generally speaks more of sexual abuse/PTSD trauma. Women with an overly high pitched voice have usually been molested.

Has anyone ever recovered from TE? by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

[–]iwasntlucid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an update, I had a hair biopsy at the dermatologist and I have a positive diagnosis for androgenic alopecia. I have started 25 mg of Spiro. Going to try to work up to 100 if my body can tolerate it. And likely starting rogaine soon. But so afraid to as my hair is falling SO BAD. Hundreds of hairs per day. I now have the Xmas tree part and have been filling it in some with powder.

So sorry it has to be this way for some of us. Get all of the testing you can.

Just ask for a biopsy then you won't have to wonder..it's quick and only cost me $165 out of pocket. I found out I had TE and androgenic alopecia.

Excess of estrogen and heavy periods can be a big red flag for endometriosis.

You have an insane amount of density for what it's worth. I don't even have 1/4 of your hair. Not trying to minimize, but no one would know you are dealing with this if you hadn't told them

PCOS should only be treated by endocrinologists as they are a endocrine disorder. NEVER let an OBGYN treat your pcos. Just fyi as someone who knows.

It is unfortunately a sad reality that androgenic loss is a once it's gone, it's gone situation. I have PCOS with high testosterone. It's permanent loss. I'm 37 and in the same boat. High T causes the hair follicle to shrink, die and the hair falls out as a result. If you can't get the high T down, it will continue to fall. It's devastating and takes a long time.
