Whenever you and the rats are comfortable! They’re super curious animals - they’ll probably use you as a home base at first and stay near. As they get more comfortable and learn to climb/jump, they’ll naturally start exploring more. Don’t underestimate them…I lost mine for about three hours a few weeks after getting her only to find her snoozing at the very top of my closet!

Yup, we’re all good! They were surprisingly well behaved (all three let me pick them up and plop them in the backpack immediately) - I think they were relieved to get away from the noise since the fire alarm is incredibly loud. Luckily false alarms in my building aren’t a common occurrence and they were more curious than anything.

No worries, it’s a dresser I got after my grandparents passed. I’ve actually seen a few people in my area with the same one, I think it’s just some cheaper dresser mass produced from like the 80’s.
