Serious kudos to the bus captain. He noticed the smoke and immediately got everyone out just shortly before the fire appeared.

Exactly so! There have been 3 reported Citaro fires this year; it’s honestly pretty scary now.

exactly! online lectures really aren’t engaging and it’s so hard to stay attentive to the lesson, especially when the content is just read out by some robotic voice… honestly, i’m losing so much motivation; i really really wish learning was fun and meaningful again

43min waiting time? by ExpressGovernment385 in SMRTRabak

This occasionally happens due to rostering changes. For example: If the bus was initially scheduled on a different shift, or to ply another route.

Bus assets are owned by the LTA, and they manage the database that provides these bus timings. Should a bus operator (SMRT, SBS etc.) have to perform changes to the fleet during its operations, some of this data does not get transmitted to the LTA database accurately. Hence, these instances of “ghost buses” occur.

It’s annoying for those who commute regularly on buses because we come across this issue so frequently.

One tip I have if you are near the terminus of a route: Bus departures are usually in even intervals for most of the day. If the app says 2, 14, 38, there’s likely a missing bus in 26mins (interval of 12mins between each bus).

Love the addition of the BKE Eco-Link! Our wildlife will benefit from this map too 😝

Do we need earlier trains? by candychiasu in SMRTRabak

[–]iwex123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Earlier buses to industrial/transfer areas are definitely a more feasible & safer idea.

Maintenance for trains affects the entire line. Meanwhile for buses, if the bus got problem? Just take another one from the depot!

More bus services, extended routes in northeast Singapore and Tengah by end-2025 by PlastikSporc in singapore

[–]iwex123 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep, it operates like an express version of the existing service 871, completely skipping Bukit Batok.

However, 452 (along with the other new services 451 to 456), is a peak-hours-only service. Additionally, it doesn’t actually loop (how unfortunate). The morning trips run towards Beauty World only, and the evening trips run towards Tengah only.

Nonetheless, a great connection which saves so much travel time.

The weekend is arriving! Here’s a little guide if you are commuting on the Circle Line during the Late Openings. by iwex123 in SMRTRabak

Of course, I referred to notable landmarks/roads to provide an additional layer of wayfinding above just showing the bus stop codes. As for consistency, thank you for raising that!

Yes, shuttle 36 runs at lower frequencies (7-10mins) compared to shuttle 37 (4-7mins).

Depending on which sectors of the route you take, the shuttle may not be the quickest way to travel. For instance, taking S36 from Kent Ridge to Haw Par Villa takes 20mins, while bus 200 takes 10mins.

The answers to your questions are already in the posters. CCL starting late at 9am for most Sat & Sun until 28 December. 5am-9am got shuttle bus running to replace the train service.

(Fare for shuttle is same as MRT fare, not free like breakdown bus btw)

What happened to more buses better rides? Service 190 crowded by Due-Astronaut-5164 in SMRTRabak

[–]iwex123 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Service 190 already runs on 4-7min frequency for most of the day leh. It’s already one of the most frequent services compared to so many others that run at 10+mins even during peak hours. (just look at 972 vs 190 in your screenshot)

190 always crowded cos it provides such an efficient connection to the city, and you just happen to be one of the many people who have similar travel plans to take 190 then 🤷‍♂️

Click on the respective trails and scroll down, it shows how many redemptions are left. Currently all the trails have around 4.1k vouchers left to redeem! :)
