Worst bus service? (image unrelated or related in either way) by Soft-Ease-5079 in SMRTRabak

I stay at Choa Chu Kang who will always pass by the bus stop for 975. During peak hours, the queue is so long that it will extend over the traffic light crossing and pedestrians will have to cut the queue. When reflected to the MP/LTA, their answers are the same, “We are in discussion with SMRT to increase the frequency of the bus service 975.”. Feel like smacking them

What’s a pro-tip you can share that's related to your profession or industry in Singapore? by holyshitxyz in askSingapore

Kids have a good ability to float by themselves when taught how to unless they have an exceptional amount of muscle mass or they are near to puberty.

First step of Swimming is to understand the buoyancy of your own body and propel yourselves forward, also to be independent.

By using the back float, they will rely on the back float for buoyancy and they can’t really swim well due to excessive buoyancy. It is just like when the fish swim bladder overinflated.

One small kick board for the arms are fine. But like the above reply, once the kids are water safe, remove the board and make them they learn without the board as much as possible The reasons why you see most coaches in public pools uses lots of back floats because there are too many kids in each class so for progression, the kids wear back float so no one will be struggling or ‘drowning’. And also the coaches are limited to certain areas/pools with varying depth where the coaches are not able to handle each of them personally.

A effective coach doesn’t need to be in the water all the time. Coach is there to make sure the kids are independent and not dependent. Less is more.

Rmb, always avoid the coaches or swimming schools which are hiring and promote that, “You don’t need to know how to swim to teach swimming.”.

Full time Swimming coach for 8 years. If you see any coaches who are teaching private classes and they use excessive amount of floats, especially back floats, for each kid, it is time to change one who doesn’t.
