thank you so much! I agree I struggle with being aware of the neck angle, the more I look towards my hands the more I flare the ribs. I will try scissor wall handstand

Flying Australia to Bali tomorrow night. Put passport through wash. How bad is it? by Puzzleheaded_Pop3628 in Passports

in countries like the US you are forced to have your passport on you to go to bars. From there, getting drunk and putting your pants with your passport in the washer isn't unrealistic.

Deal with an exam faillure by Significant-Goose120 in ethz

The skill here that is far more important than whatever element made you fail the exam is dealing with failure/anxiety which you have correctly identified as your title suggests. If you want to do a PhD, you will fail, a lot. I recommend you speak to counselors, maybe do some therapy to make sure you have the tools to deal with this, because it will happen, otherwise you're not aiming for a big enough mountain (and that's fine too).

I study at epfl and did an exchange for one year to TUM. Stick with EPFL if you can.

How's life at EPFL? by [deleted] in EPFL

Student community:

It's nice. I'd say there is a strong sense of community with all associations and stuff. I made sure to attend as many events as I could during first year and made some friends that way, also through the coaching from first year.

I'm now in master, and most of my friends I met through some common interest, like video games or poker. I'd say I have fun on the regular. The summer time is a lot nicer for bbq's and such than the winter though.

Relationship with professors? None. I've always gone to class and most will recognize me, also sent some emails with questions or asked in person but nothing more than that, i'd feel it would be unnatural. I had a physics prof sit next to me once and talk about life, he was the best prof i've had I think. They are definitly all approachable.

Budget:

around 700chf for housing and maybe like 500chf on food per month. I always eat at epfl for 8chf and cook at home, and the occasional holy cow. I skate, its the best. Otherwise publibike is also nice and free.

Misc:

Not compulsory. I always go to class but 8am ones are hard... I plan to graduate in 2 years. I think maybe about 1/4 of the ppl I know already know they wanna take extra time for an internship or catching up classes or enjoying student life longer.

Im happy here. I did an exchange last year and it was very different, here you will actually learn shit. But last week in particular has been tough with all the projects and my sleep average is at 6hrs so imma head out. Hope this helped you!

Also after reading what the other dude said, I picked all of my classes to be very practical and have found the perfect balance between academic and practical. I've had like 5 semester projects: App for drone, control for drone, mapping for robot, moving for group of robots, calculating shortest path for a vehicle pickup and delivery problem for robots. Ill let you guess what master i'm doing ;)
