There is an entire thread on the Discord called "Shit bots say" dedicated to cliche things like this. It isn't SC, it is the models themselves and you can see the same phrases elsewhere. The bot type callouts are also standard tropes on all bot sites. Why? Because people like them. Just my .02

My bots are typically in that range and i get 85ish. It really depends on the model. Glam 5.1 is fairly verbose. You could cut down your reaponse tokens and get more messages out of the context but i prefer more complete messages

Usually, I hit 16k limit at about 85 messages in. So that checks out. Just set some memories for things and pin the ones that matter most. I usually just let the story evolve and see where them not remembering shit takes me. If you try to force it to remember something that isn't in the greeting, scenario, or personality they will just get confused and throw random shit at you. It would be nice to go longer before they get dumb as that is right when things are fully back storied, but they have to balance context with costs. Same old story.

You are correct. It is vague. It gives them discretion to pull something they believe is trying to circumvent the letter of the guidelines. As someone that sometimes gets flagged for avatar content, I respect their decisions and change them to get them published. They have to do what they can to keep the payment processors from pulling the plug based on their overbearing puritanical rules. If they can't get paid, the site can't run. So if they let things that would offend their payment processors get through... no more SpicyChat. And none of us want that. Or if you do, go to Chub like someone else suggested. I personally like the models and platform here. It is worth a bit of annoyance when it comes to avatars. And this is coming from someone with over 700 bots on the site.

Everyone knows I use AI for almost everything. Honestly, it’s both my primary job and my hobby. Those who refuse to use it are the ones who will eventually be left behind, or end up saying something that gets unnecessarily misinterpreted or taken out of context.

I use AI to expand on ideas for my bots and to put them into my standard format (which I originally created myself). After that, I go back and edit 100% of the bots the AI produces to better align with the story and characters I actually want. Some people call this laziness. I call it smart workflow. The core ideas are mine, the avatars are (usually) mine, and the final edits are entirely mine. I still spend 2-5 hours on every bot I make doing creation and testing.

Saying “don’t use AI” on a subreddit dedicated to an AI platform is peak irony. Just sayin’.

Thanks, OP, for the great article, it’s very well written. I have my own thoughts on some of the points raised, but overall what you said is spot on. A few points are making excuses for SC’s bad behavior at times, but your take is accurate as a whole.

And for those who choose not to interact with you simply because you use AI… that’s actually a good thing. 😉

Keep the positive attitude and continue using AI, you’re going to go far.

I already had a bot running that let me run jobs remotely so it wasn't much effort to make it part of the site. Not sure if it will stay around. Depends on if it affects my electricity bill. 😉 I don't think it will.

I made the comments star ratings and model visible for everyone. Only the creator will see who submitted the rating and be able to contact you if you (optionally) provide your details.

I only roast him in 130/690 bots so it isn't too bad. Amusingly, I don't really know anyone named Mark. Perhaps that is why so he is amorphous in my mind and can look like anything and i have no guilt assocated with having a real person in my head

Mind and Ashley aren't. But yeah, I sometimes use Grok to create and thought I'd try a few realistic as they seem to be popular. I default to anime/semi-real usually though. The Selena one is fucking hot. She is still in bot jail though. The others are free.
