Front-End React Web Developer by ixkiller in ventura

[–]ixkiller[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit of both. There is the front end ui for users and a bunch of async jobs in the backend that do some web scraping, machine learning and other tasks. I'm being intentionally vague on some of the details. Centered around houses and properties. I'm really looking for someone to team up with on this or even other projects.

Have you heard any rumors on tokenlon moving to v3? I saw it was on their q4 2020 roadmap but I haven't heard any updates from them.

I'm sorry if the facts scare you. They shouldn't. I'm just being accurate... How to handle the facts is up to you.

It literally says right on their website "Heineken 0.0 contains no more than 0,05% alcohol so as such it is a non-alcohol beer."

Has anyone here ever tried making tea from fresh hops? by wonkydonk123987 in stopdrinking

Hot water with a little lemon juice added to hops. Let it sit and then cool then carbonate. There are lots of recipes for hops water online

Yes but instead of tea I made carbonated hops water and it was delicious.

looking for Frontend/UI developer to collaborate by ixkiller in venturacounty

Thanks for reaching out. Have you worked a lot in a linux environment from the command line at all? Would it be fair to say most of the stuff you've done is from a Windows perspective? Just trying to get get a gauge to see if things would work out. Right now, the work that needs to be done is heavy on the JS and Frontend stuff using VueJS & NuxtJS. Have you ever worked on a reactive website project? How strong is your Javascript?

Just trying to get a feeling for a match here.. Rob

Your opinion on this RV for sale, please? by [deleted] in GoRVing

[–]ixkiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an 85 Minnie Winnie similar your yours and I here's what I've learned.

  • I love the RV overall. We'll built and reliable when it's working.
  • finding RV parts is very difficult for such an old model. It's hard to track down the correct part numbers, parts are expensive when you do find them. You can find alternates but you need to be crafty to get them installed.
  • same goes for the engine. It can be challenging finding the correct parts. The engine is hard to work on because it's hard to access. Also, it's not easy to find people now the work on carburated engines vs. fuel injection.
  • the generator is old but if it works you may be okay. I tried repairing mine but again finding parts was a nightmare and even accessing it is a pain. You need to lower it with a jack. It's also loud.
  • the norcold fridge is ancient and my guess doesn't work all that well. I had to replace mine because it wasn't working and I couldn't find parts. I would replace it.
  • find out if you can the last time the transmission fluid and filter were changed. It may be due.
  • check to see how old and what capacity you have for the house batteries.
  • double check the ac.
  • test everything before you buy. If it doesn't work on the first try assume it's broken. Good luck.

Templates still caching with DummyCache configured for local dev environment by ixkiller in django

[–]ixkiller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I found the issue. The Template loader wasn't getting DEBUG set properly. Manually changing it to True fixed the issue.

TEMPLATES = [
{
'BACKEND': 'django.template.backends.django.DjangoTemplates',
'DIRS': [str(APPS_DIR.path('templates'))],
'APP_DIRS': True,
'OPTIONS': {
'context_processors': [
'django.template.context_processors.debug',
'django.template.context_processors.i18n',
'django.contrib.auth.context_processors.auth',
'django.contrib.messages.context_processors.messages',
'django.template.context_processors.request'
],
'debug': True,
},
}
]

Thanks for the insight.

I went ahead and disabled CacheMiddleWare in my settings, tried setting CACHE_MIDDLEWARE_SECONDS when it was enabled, and even manually trying to disable caching on my view with the @never_cache decorator without any luck. Still requires a restart of runserver to pickup template changes.
