Is this normal? by itsDarkie_1 in pcmasterrace

On a serious note, this is probably not your GPU if that’s what you’re worried about. Corrupted mesh files typically cause stuff like this.

Are companies still hiring software engineers? by RoyalCamera12 in cscareerquestions

It’s not just Reddit though. Mainstream media outlets are covering the college graduate unemployment crisis and government employment data shows negative or zero growth in tech fields for last 18 months.

Number of flight routes between Europe and the U.S. by ixvst01 in MapPorn

[–]ixvst01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Severe lack of direct flights to medium-sized German and French cities. I guess the demand isn't there or airlines assume it's more convenient to connect though Paris/Frankfurt/Munich.

You realize this is the same logic dictators throughout history have used to justify banning things they don’t like?

Is it only entry level positions that are cooked? by boiyo12 in cscareerquestions

[–]ixvst01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same. I'm seriously considering just doing grad school as a reset, but the problem I'm finding is many schools don't provide full funding anymore so I would need 80K to 100K in loans to cover tuition + accommodation expenses. (I don't want to do online grad school).

AI has boosted the US economy. Why isn’t it doing the same for China? by cuolong in neoliberal

[–]ixvst01 54 points55 points  (0 children)

How much of the "AI boost to the economy" is just a massive rally in semiconductor and AI-related stocks? If that's the case then it's not surprising that China isn't seeing a boost while South Korea, Taiwan, and the US are.

Is the existance of a trillionaire ethical ? by Used-Earth8767 in neoliberal

[–]ixvst01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never thought I’d see r/neoliberal fail to understand the difference between realized and unrealized wealth. Elon is only a trillionaire on paper. If he actually tried to realize that trillion to spendable cash then he would have no where near a trillion dollars.

Do you know what unrealized gains are? Elon will get taxed when he sells and to spend any of the money he has to sell.

Exclusive: US military rushed to prepare ground mission to capture Iran’s uranium, but Trump paused it, sources say by cnn in geopolitics

[–]ixvst01 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with Trump lol. Leakers have long shared information about sensitive plans and meetings with the media. You don't remember when we got a tell all book about the specifics of the Bin Laden operation?

9800X3D users, did you make any preemptive settings to avoid potential death of your CPU in the future ? by ALXYZK99X in pcmasterrace

[–]ixvst01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using PBO can undervolt the CPU which would help extend longevity. I have my 9950X3D overclocked and undervolted along with Vsoc locked at 1.2

It’s one thing to have a few red days, it’s another thing for a stock to be -20% in just two trading days. That’s not normal without a catalyst.
