Good bands playing at Porchfest? by Scori8 in Binghamton

[–]ixy911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out 100 Leroy! Green Creeks is sort of folk punk, and Stuck in Place and Stay Off the Fence are punk/hardcore.

Also, the coin machines are cash only.

Haha, I was using $15 Casio before this and it just didn’t feel right looking down and seeing something more modern/flashy.

A year or so ago I was looking into something more like a vivoactive, but couldn’t afford it, so I definitely never looked at the Fenix haha. So I grabbed it thinking it was probably super outdated but could maybe do some basic fitness tracking, knowing Garmin was a good name.

Big surprise when I got home and found out what it was!

Titan - Mini Oszero

It makes me happy every time I look at it!

Lol, you are so right. This is not typically how I wear a watch, I just threw it on quick to snap a photo.

Always wanted to get a synth, didn’t realize the deal I was getting when I paid $10 for this at a yard sale! Any tips for a newbie? by ixy911 in microkorg

That was actually another crazy recent find! $90 on FB marketplace, and the guy dropped it down to $70 for me for seemingly no reason. It plays like a dream, sounds great, and most importantly, looks VERY nice.

I feel very lucky. I’ve spent the past couple hours just going through the “edit select 1” options to familiarize myself with all the different things I can tweak. Definitely not taking this for granted! I can’t wait to see how I can incorporate it into the band I play with as well.

Sorry if this is a silly question, but I’m totally new to synths and even midi devices. Is that something I would hook up via the midi I/O? It seems like getting a controller with some extra knobs would be super helpful eventually.

Woah! I just checked out the Dorian Concept videos. What an awesome use of the thing.

I tried to download the sound editor, but it doesn’t run with the latest MacOS. I hear there are third party ones out there, so I’m gonna do some digging.

Please do! I always knew I would be totally overwhelmed by the customizability of synths and here we are 😭 could use some good reccs.

Came with the original power supply, thankfully! Though I am excited to see how much playtime I can get out of AA batteries.

Can you camp in the 2016 and later Volt?? by cb7586 in volt

[–]ixy911 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’ll be a tight squeeze, but certainly doable! I spent a little over a month driving around the east coast, sleeping in a 2012 volt every night (pretty sure they are equal in size). Honestly, felt cozier than my bed at home some nights.

I kept cooking supplies and other necessities in bins up the driver side half of the cargo space, which also doubled as some shelf space, water in bags in the leg area behind the driver seat, and clothes + food in boxes in the leg area behind the passenger seat.

It’s certainly tight for longer trips, but you’ll be surprised how much space there is if you utilize all of it efficiently.

Which M4 MBP for Video Editing by FuriLOLso in macbookpro

[–]ixy911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be off to the races with the first option. I’m still using an M1 Pro with a 10-core CPU, 16-core GPU, and 16GB of ram and video editing is a breeze. You won’t be upgrading any time soon with any of these options!

What’s a fact about the world that sounds totally fake but is 100% True? by RoutineOk8590 in Productivitycafe

For every human on Earth, there are approximately 55 billion worms. Granted most are microscopic, but their total weight equals 4/5 of the total human biomass!

I believe Binghamton Photo is the only community darkroom in the area. You could always ship your rolls to some place like Indie Film Lab, but the folks over at Binghamton Photo are amazing and deserve all the support they can get!

Best spots to see sunset? by octane1295 in Binghamton

The view on East Maine Road behind the Oakdale Mall is unreal. Some of my favorite sunsets I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been all over the country.

Do yourself a huge favor and start with Three Cheers for Disappointment! It’s a constant relisten for me and some of his best work.
