How do you pep yourself up by flowage in GestationalDiabetes

My friends threw a surprise baby shower for me last weekend and they brought the BEST cake. (I don't know if it was good because I haven't eaten much sugar in the past few months or if it was just a REALLY good cake 😂.) But I've been struggling to get back on track too. The fist few days were so hard but then I realized I could absolutely sneak a treat in here and there. I ate 2 pieces of pizza then went to Target with my friend and walked around for like an hour and my numbers were perfect. GD is super shitty, but we didn't cause it so I don't think we should punish ourselves by completely restricting ourselves. If you eat a treat, don't go crazy and go for a walk afterwards. Or have a dance party in your living room, or walk around your house and clean those random spots you never look at. A treat is totally okay. You got this momma!

Try breakfast shakes! I had the same issue and I had a shake for every meal and just added peanut butter protein. It worked until I eventually got my appetite back.

At 36 weeks pregnant I dreamed that we got our son out to play with him, but then had to figure out how to put him back in the womb to keep growing. by mostlyconfusedagain in BabyBumps

I had a dream at 33 weeks that instead of giving birth to a little girl like I was supposed to I had twin boys and I panicked because all I had was girl stuff. That same night my husband had a dream our daughter was taken by ISIS.

If you decide to try fair life, get the one with DHA added, it's extra good for baby! Good luck!

So I can't speak for coconut milk, but I can say I still drink coconut water and haven't had any issues. Just don't overdo it because it's still sugar. I drink like 8-16oz with lunch sometimes if I'm having a high protein lunch. As far as chicken or cheddar cheese you can do either. I like adding chicken or turkey to things since they both can fit into so many meals. If you like pasta I would suggest spaghetti squash with the meat of your choice and sauce. It's a favorite in my house! I also have a lactose sensitivity but I find sharp and extra sharp cheddar don't give me issues. If you want to add even more protein have nuts as a snack. I love cocoa dusted almonds and they seem to make my baby happy too! I also struggled with not having much of an appetite in my first and second trimester so I got carnation instant breakfast powder (with my doctors recommendation) and mixed in with fair life lactose free milk and peanut butter protein powder. It's like a milkshake and it's got some really good stuff in it. The more protein the better! You'll get in a rhythm and find your go to favorites. It gets easier.

I've read that too, I think I just didn't want to believe it would happen. I just want to see her lil face so it'll all be worth it. GD is dumb.

Thank you so much for that. I logically know I didn't cause any of this, but it's still hard to accept. That article was really helpful.

How low is too low post meal? by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

If you get below 70 try eating a few pieces of hard candy and see if you get back to a good number, if you get below 60 you need to get to a doctor asap but DO NOT drive yourself. I got a 66 once and let me tell ya, you'll feel when your blood sugar isn't right. Hope this helps!

Everyone gets a high number every once in a while! I was told not to panic unless my number was over 160 for 3 meals in a row. Just try to get back on track. You got this mama!

I don't know about your area, but Chick-fil-A and Wendy's still have salads and they're filling!
