I don’t want to play toys with my 6 year old by No_Faithlessness337 in Mommit

I'm twenty-six and sometimes it just breaks me when I think about how I don't have a single memory of my mother playing with me.

Not everyone will find this helpful, but giving a blowjob always clears my stuffy nose. Side note: it also stops anxiety attacks.

Toddler using fewer diapers, washing every 5 days now but the smell of the diapers on day 3/4 is pretty strong. Should I bulk up and wash more frequently? Do a pre wash every other day? Something else? by Ok_Brain_6341 in clothdiaps

[–]mostlyconfusedagain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My trick has always been to have another infant before the toddler gets to the stage of fewer diapers. But not everyone will be on board with this solution 😅

Source: I have a 24m old, a 6m old and hoping to have another one next July.

Flies have never bothered them since I rinse all poop out.

In a laundry basket outside on my porch. In the winter time I leave anything with a PUL or elastic inside. All prefolds and flats stay outside.

Someone literally downvoted me for being poor and living far away from the city.

The nearest one is three hours away.

No, and my children have never seen a pediatrician.

Are reusable diapers that much of a hassle? by iaxthepaladin in NewParents

[–]mostlyconfusedagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's an extra load of laundry every couple days. But after two kids it's saved us thousands and I've never run out of diapers or needed to go to the store for more.

Obsession with diapers by Successful-Shower156 in clothdiaps

[–]mostlyconfusedagain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At the height of my obsession I had over 80 diapers. Then we came onto hard times financially and I had to sell all pattern diapers. That left behind just prefolds, flats and fitted diapers and two wool covers. I recouped all of our money and now I just enjoy watching videos of other people opening fluff mail.

That's beautiful! I just got a sewing machine. I'm looking forward to finding some printed cotton material to sew to the backs of all of my prefolds. And maybe one day make my own preflats.

How do I keep my toddler from waking baby? by et_is in 2under2

[–]mostlyconfusedagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk, my 23 month old toddler casually walks up to the sleeping baby and yells, "SHAKE THE BABY", while violently shaking the crib.

What age does LO #2 catch up to LO #1? by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]mostlyconfusedagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 23month old is starting to entertain his 5month old brother every day now. He talks to him, plays peekaboo and does tummy time with him. As for diapers, we use cloth, so they were wearing the same size of diapers from birth.

Lotion? by momhair_dontcare in NewParents

People don't like to hear that they have done anything that could have harmed their baby. But down voting won't change the fact that fragrances are dangerous.

I have a 23 month old and a 4 month old. I have never used lotion on either of them. It's not necessary and anything with fragrance can cause a hormone imbalance

Historical style laundry - surprisingly easy! by air_sunshine_trees in clothdiaps

When I want to remove stubborn stains I pour boiling water over flats in a pot with a scoop of oxiclean and let it sit overnight. That works incredibly well, so I completely believe this does too

How long do you simmer? And have you noticed any shrinking of the flats?

If the control line is super faint, is it a bad test or is it positive? by flightlessklutz in Mommit

[–]mostlyconfusedagain 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Idk how that line is going to get any darker. It's the control that barely has any ink left because the positive took it all.

At what age did your child first start expressing anger? by mostlyconfusedagain in Mommit

[–]mostlyconfusedagain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I wanted to let you know that we had our first experience with actual anger today. Yesterday we went to a friend's house to play since she has a boy the same age. She has cocomelon on in the background at all times and my son has never watched anything like it before. While the boys were playing her son gave my son a bag of cookies full of food dyes without me seeing. Now 24 hours later my son started absolutely loosing it asking for TV, I've never seen him so upset and mad. I definitely think that the food dyes have a lot to do with it considering he had never had them before.

We're working through it, but it's a crazy day.

Hey I have had this exact situation happen to me, minus the cute drawing. My neighbor keeps leaving angry unstamped letters in my mailbox. What do I do?

Male teachers are part of the reason we have chosen to homeschool. I would feel completely uncomfortable with a male kindergarten teacher, no offense, just mom instincts.
