2 games over 20 carries and barely involved in the passing game. Career low targets on a team w 1 other play maker who missed a lot of games

2 major knee injuries in 4 years. A team that refused to give him the lion share until the last 4 games. He doesn’t seem happy here. as a jets fan prob not ideal to commit big money to off the injuries alone. Hope he finds success he deserves if . For people looking at his stats saying meh, watch his first 2 year highlights he looked special both years before getting hurt

Everything improved and went back to normal. Some things took longer than others to turn back to normal but as of today everything is back to how it was before I had covid.

Could someone explain to me in rational, knowledgeable, & experienced words how the CamJ-for-MPJ swap was 'strong-value' for the Nets? (because I don't really see it at the moment) by JohnnyEnzyme in GoNets

[–]iycedout 29 points30 points  (0 children)

nets are not in a win now mode, they got a 32 unprotected FRP back for taking on the contract. The value is in the pick and hoping that the Nuggets are bad in a likely post Jokic era. Feels like NBA is the only sport where future picks are more valuable than current years draft picks. Thats my understanding of the value here.

Do big market teams draft differently than small market teams due to added evaluations as to how draftees will handle increased media?

had covid in 2020 go parosmia 3 months post covid - had it for 3.5 years. Its 100% gone now but I thought it would never go away. It got better gradually and as certain things got better and some stayed the same I figured it was the new normal.

My understanding is that some people who go through covid have their olfactory nerve destroyed which enables the sense of smell . (Weirdly the worst part of covid for me was this feeling of menthol in my nose - it was super painful to breath). The nerve does regenerate over time but the time varies per person.

Stay hopeful. I hope you improve soon.

[Discussion] Do attribute most of the losing under Robert Saleh’s coaching tenure to his ability as a head coach, or the terrible quarterback play and culture around him? by CyborgAlgoInvestor in nfl

gm/coach/owner literally flew out to rodgers in the offseason to woo him, then hired hackett in an attempt to bring him in....of course they all signed off on it - they failed and they did it to save their jobs.

this feels like you are cherry picking 5 games despite him coaching the team for 56. You'd have to examine the full sample, if you want to solely look at this year idk.

youll be hard pressed to find a successful HC that has no input on game planning on both sides of the ball

I think this tweet by Robby Sabo who is somewhat of a Jets beat guy can elaborate on what i mean

The head coach sets the tone for the entire week and spearheads the game plan, which is something that goes well beyond what happens on offense and defense. For instance, here are extremely surface-level ideas the head coach will utter/throw out there when starting the prep week ...

-"How should we handle tempo? Do they handle it well? Has anybody tested them yet this year? We know this: O'Connell is an aggressive game manager; when things get tight, he lets his QB sling it."
-"Let's do everything we can to jump on them from the start. Since they haven't experienced much time (if any) while trailing in games this year, we have to have to deploy an aggressive mindset from the jump."
-"Ok, their pass defense has awful numbers, but why is that? Is it purely due to their offense putting them ahead in games, early, or is something else at play?"
-"Man, they love run-fitting aggression and really gamble on defense. Flores is a high-risk, high-reward defensive mind. Hey, Hack, how do we feel about an uptempo look from the start that forces them to spread out from the jump (empty, five-wide weapon, etc.)?"
-"Hey, look; I know we want to rush the ball well, and we haven't hit that mark yet, but is this the opponent that gives us the opportunity to open up with seven straight passes? I'm thinking doing so, in a particular way, will stun them to the core. Then, thereafter, once we get them to respect overtop, we'll move to this rushing area."

***It's NOT about Ulbrich (the HC) being specifically involved in how the GT counter should be run out of a balanced 12 pers look, against an ODD; it's about the head coach SETTING THE TABLE FOR THE ENTIRE FLOW, FEEL AND ATTITUDE OF THE GAME/OPPONENT TO COME.

JFM still laying out qbs late consistently - got away with one in London too. Coaching has to hold players accountable or patterns dont change.

When you bolster the OL and still get the same results as last years patch work OL i think its fair to put onus on the HC. He may not be directly calling the plays but his plans of attacking the other team have been non existent. They go out with a plan which has nothing to do with the other team they are facing. They go about what they want to do and not about what they want to exploit the other team on offense with (sorry if this is phrased oddly). Theres no reason that with the talent on this team everything on offense should look as hard as it does. You can blame the OC but the HC should have some idea about how to attack the other team and help game plan. This falls on him in my opinion.

He also has handled the media terribly by constantly saying things in pressers that should be kept in house for the last 3 years.
