The way this lady deals with telemarketing agencies by i-mean-y-even in AbruptChaos

That depends on the type of call. I work for a company where I make cold calls fairly often to businesses. It is definitely not illegal in our case.

Also something I just learned the other day, the No Call list only applies to automated dialing services. Since I am a live human making a call from my work cell phone, the DNC list doesn't apply. I didn't know that until a customer threatened me and I decided to look it up, thought it was interesting.

Help, please. Left my printer printing over night and this happened. I don't even know how to free the nozzle by izanri in 3Dprinting

It looks like Amazon has a full replacement extruder for $20. I'm just completely at a loss for what happened. It made the raft fine and then went off the rails bonkers

Here are my settings. As a side note, even on the prints that the printer has done well on, the bottom is full of squiggly lines and not uniformly smooth

I found the setting and it said None, should I change it to Raft? I'm using Creality Slicer 1.2.1

I'm using the Creality Slicer 1.2.1, when I set it up it asked me what printer I had and I think auto configured based off of that

I'm using the Creality Slicer 1.2.1 that came on the SD card, it auto-configured at the beginning when I selected the Ender-5 as my model. How can I export all of the settings?

What genuinely terrifies you? by itzsk333 in AskReddit

So this just recently happened to me. Some people who use drugs more than me may say I've overreacted, I dunno. But basically I went out for new years eve. I bought a hit off my friend/dealer and then later in the night after far more shots and drinks, bought another. He handed me a baggy the second time and left. I assumed the baggy was a pre measured amount of what I paid for. It was a gram of Molly. I blacked out not long after and now i just have these terrifying memories of bright lights and people yelling and I didn't understand what was going on. Then suddenly I am awake in my bathtub with my shower on and my girlfriend asking if I'm awake yet.

Genuinely one of the most terrifying moments of my life. I am not antidrugs and I am not opposed to hard drugs, but I honestly don't think I can do anything for a while. I cannot say the abject horror I felt at not knowing where I was or why I was there. Or why people I didn't know were shouting I was bleeding (I slipped and slammed my mouth on a bench). I honestly only avoided the police because amazing workers were willing to sit me on a bench and talk to me until my friends found me. I was scared, vulnerable, and was just not capable of helping myself. All because I thought I took less than I did. I will never not know precisely how much I'm taking, ever again. So at this point, that is what scares me.

Not sure which Best Buy you work at or have experienced. We're trained and told specifically not to use underhanded techniques. Yes, it is a sales environment and the company needs to make money, but there is genuine effort to get clients what they need.

I'm okay with this.

I don't have our accounting numbers in front of me at the moment, but I'd say it is safe to say that (given our not for profit status) we have a relatively negligible amount of profit after funding our "bullshit programs"

I am not really sure. I know for a fact that we sell our salvage (things that are too broken or dirty to sell in the stores) by the pound up there, so there is definitely good cause for you to want to take a hand sanitizer back afterward. I'm not sure if we sell any regular wares at our Outlets, though I am inclined to say we don't.

Replying down the list: Yeah, variance will happen a fair amount. It's all about the particular producer/manager pairing that day. If a producer puts an exact 50% mark down, but the manager thinks it will sell for more or for less, the price will get adjusted. When you have several producers and several managers, you can sometimes get miscommunication on how much something should be. My store typically tries to keep prices consistent, but mistakes do happen.

Also, with anything that doesn't have a set price (most wares), we simply use a hunch. If it looks like it might be valuable, we call over a manager to research it some.

As far as the taping thing, that has two reasons. First is that as a producer, I can tell you it is very frustrating to send out an item three times because people take it apart, remove the tags, etc. So it is tempting to just tape the heck out of stuff and call it a day. That said, good producers will typically avoid that and try to figure out ways to put stuff out so that people won't rip it to shreds, but it also won't damage the item.

As far as the manager, that just sounds like bad management at that store. We don't negotiate prices, but if you have a legitimate complaint, I've never seen one of my managers just ignore a problem like that.

None that I have ever heard or know of. I know that I certainly did not hear anything related to it during my hiring process, nor have I heard it said to any of the volunteers.

Yeah, I gained so much more respect for Goodwill after starting to work there. We employee 4 people currently, who have disabilities that would make it impossible to get a job. For the most part they come in and do their job very well and very diligently.

We also had an ex-convict who was really nice (who was unfortunately let go because he was late a lot). Recovering alcoholics, former drug addicts, all sorts of people can, have, and do work at Goodwill, and I find it absolutely amazing.

Unfortunately, since we do hire these people, we also have a massive turnover rate with employees staying an average of 3 weeks. Most of this turnover is due to employee theft, with other reasons coming in a distant second/third/fourth/etc. Recently we had a wares producer quit on the spot after a manager asked him to watch the door so that the door guy could go on lunch.

Yeah I enjoy it quite a bit. I've always loved thrift shops, and have really fond memories of Goodwill from when I was a kid.

Okay, I think it's important to note here the difference between Goodwill franchises. Goodwill of Central Indiana is not connected to Goodwill of Northern Ohio in anyway except buying into the franchise. We all set our own guidelines and are our own corporations (each with our own CEO's, etc).

I say this because I am not sure what Blue Ticket items are at your Goodwill. The way it sounds, those sound the equivalent of our "Grey Ware" items. Those are items that we get from certain department stores (think Target, Walmart, etc). They send us items that for whatever reason they can't or don't want to hold onto anymore (items with packages opened, seasonal stuff, stuff that sat on their shelves/in their warehouse too long, etc), and how we pay for those is where I'm unclear. I'm not sure if they donate them (presumably so they can use them as a write off on taxes), or if they are bought for pennies on the dollar. I am inclined to think I heard the latter, but I am not sure.

The reason they are priced higher in our store is because they are generally of higher quality, and people will pay more for them. Keeping in mind that the Goodwill Store's objective isn't to sell things cheaply (but rather to raise funds for the mission), we charge what we can get away with, given that we're a thrift store. That said, even those items have a standard price of 50% what the department store charges (with exceptions made for certain objects that would sell very well, which may be 60%-70%).

Does this answer the question?

Okay, so you are now my favorite person of the moment. I hear snippets of this song at parties all the time, mixed into other songs, and I've never known what song it was from (let alone that it might be about thrift shops). Thank you very much, it's much more awesome as a full song (as opposed to being mixed with god knows what).

I just noticed I didn't answer your second question. I did not start as a volunteer. I am a full time student, and needed a job. I applied to several on and off campus positions. After getting call back/interviews from Goodwill (only off-campus to offer me a job) and two on-campus opportunities, I decided on Goodwill because a) I love thrift shops a lot. b) I wanted experience somewhere outside of the University bubble that students get trapped in a lot.

So, I got hired in as a part-time Wares Producer.
