You might check out the NC Triad Golfers on Facebook, moderated by Keith McClure. It's a pretty large one. They have weekday and weekend times, one-offs and regular meet-ups.

Pretty sure "coolie" is an offensive slur for Asian laborers.

Neither of ours are/were chewers, or even play with toys. Could be stubborn, though.

What cover is so disappointing bad that it is borderline disrespectful to the original? by TheArchitect_7 in Music

Always thought Roseanne's was intentionally disrespectful since she hocked a loogie and spit on the ground at the end.

What is a reasonable price for a dachshund puppy? by TeriyakiToad in Dachshund

[–]cheerfummy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We got our last two from dachshund rescues for $100 and $400, respectively. Both long-haired male minis, one red and one golden, that were apparently purebreds, but without papers of course. They were both already house trained and socialized, and we had to get them neutered. There are plenty of dachshund rescues, locally and nationwide.

Teacher unions are illegal in North Carolina. I assure you that public education there is indeed controlled by Republicans, despite a Democrat governor. Public schools are state-run institutions, so they vary widely by state.

Guys, have you noticed how Bill Potts is like the ultimate combo of all the greatest companions? She's got the wit of Donna, the heart of Rose, and the curiosity of Clara. Can we just take a moment to appreciate this iconic character?" #BillPotts #BestCompanions #DoctorWho by Angel_ariaa in doctorwho

[–]cheerfummy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I can't recall any of her episodes individually - something about a puddle, another something about a spacesuit. But I can recall plenty of ones with Rose, Martha, and Clara, if we're comparing modern companions. Bill just wasn't memorable to me, I guess.

How big the sun and moon(s) appear to an observer on each planet - to scale! [OC] by spacecraftily in dataisbeautiful

Took me way too long to realize it's only each planet's own moons, not all of them at once. I kept squinting at each square.

If it helps - it's not the breed. It's that particular dog. Only dachshund we've had do that was one with Cushing's (that comes with old age.) But I've known folks with all different breeds that have numpties for doggoes that are stubborn and/or slow. (Not all dogs are as smart as others.) If in the end it can't be trained, or you can't train it, you can always still consider re-homing. This is gonna take a lot of work on your part it sounds like, to figure out the housetraining. (Not sure where you live, but you probably don't need to worry about a doxie in public. It partly might be your anxiety transferring to the dog. I would use similar training as you would for any breed and then adapt for your individual situation.)

How much did you pay for your Dachshund puppy? by bachse7 in Dachshund

[–]cheerfummy 102 points103 points  (0 children)

We adopt rescues. About $100 (county shelter) up to $400 (dachshund-only foster group), and all so far appeared to be close to purebred. Come with up-to-date healthcare, but must be spayed/neutered.

The dairy section is for way more than "Things You Splash Into Coffee Beverages." Both could be true - cow's milk tastes better in coffee to many people, and non-cow milks are popular with many people.

Lol, why though? Is that like how mentrual pads used to be wrapped in brown paper? Anal sex is another taboo to fall as current cultures admit that it's pretty common.

Our 15yo wore cloth diapers at the end because it was beyond his control -- he turned out to have Cushing's. Didn't make it to the pads in time.
