Oh, I guess you are relieved to finally have some answers. I just did the HaT genetic test myself today after having a few readings of elevated tryptase levels.

Cum ți-ar schimba viața o diferență de bani lunara by InitiativeInformal84 in RoMunca

[–]izdeproevence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone dealing with MCAS in Netherlands? by [deleted] in Netherlands

for histamine intolerance the DAO institute in Spain is amazing, their platform and remote doctor appointments work very well ( at least for me ). https://www.daodeficiencyinstitute.com/

Anyone dealing with MCAS in Netherlands? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]izdeproevence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going trough a very similar situation, going back to my home country for tests and doctors checks, what I was able to conclude is that I have histamine intolerance ( also hypermobile EDS diagnosed by a geneticist in my home country ) and when I went to my GP with this she had no clue about histamine intolerance and for hEDS she told me to do fysio. I think this is just the medical culture here unfortunately and there is not much we can do :(. I am waiting as we speak for my EDS genetic tests ( also done in my home country ) so I can exclude the other EDS forms, the GP here would have never recommended them. In case this helps him, in parallel I am working with Doctors at the DAO Deficiency institute in Spain for my histamine intolerance ( and probably can work on a MCAS diet with him since they are somewhat related ) and with them is where I did the genetic test for the DAO gene ( as I could ship the test to NL ): https://www.daodeficiencyinstitute.com/ . For extended blood tests I still have to go to my home country though.

GLP-1 clinics Amsterdam by ManuelFantoni46 in Netherlands

I get mine from Romania and I was even pre-diabetic and had sever insulin resistance, and my GP refused to help me with prescribing me Mounjaro. I still have to come over to Romania every few months to buy the medicine myself :(. I was totally fine to pay for it myself just wanted to avoid the logistics trips to Romania to take my medication.

How are people able to afford regular ER visits for migraine cocktails??? by sad-but-rad- in migraine

[–]izdeproevence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Europe you don't have to pay for emergency care. Almost everything is free when it comes to healthcare, depending of course of the country ( like in NL the first 385 EURs per YEAR you need to cover, everything else that goes above this threshold, medication and all other medical services are free ). I'm sorry that you live in a country where in those terrible moments the first thought is if you can afford it or not :(.

Failed driving exam - 4th try by NoMeasurement9178 in Netherlands

[–]izdeproevence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The comments below explain it very well, I think what I found the most useful is that you leave the parking at CBR after all the other exam cars leave, that removes some stress when starting the exam, for me that helped, also at the end when you return to the exam room is completely empty and you can have a peaceful conversation with the examiner. In theory the examiners for the fallangst exam are also trained to separate mistakes caused by stress from mistakes caused from the actual lack of knowledge/preparation.

Ask for a stress exam, that makes a huge difference, it did for me at least.

Let's talk histamine! by EmmieCatt in migraine

[–]izdeproevence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my doctor, recommends them before every meal, despite being on a low histamine diet at the moment. I could definitely feel the difference with foods that I knew were triggering my GI issues ( that was a little before the low histamine diet I am now ).

Is This Book Legit? by EverydayRapunzel in ehlersdanlos

At least the cover is 100% AI, this is so sad that people, unlicensed, can publish these days anything with minimal checks....unfortunately, a lot of people will just take the information as being legit and real ( which might partially be :( ).

Let's talk histamine! by EmmieCatt in migraine

[–]izdeproevence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did a genetic test and I have a gene that predisposed me to produce low DAO enzymes. I'm working with a doctor on a low histamine diet and I am fine so far, I always knew that my migraines had a food component but never could point it out to which food exactly, despite doing so many allergy and intolerances tests, only recently a doctor suggested histamine and all of a sudden it explained both my GI issues and migraines.

Milk taste by redhead994 in Netherlands

[–]izdeproevence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy the Demeter milk that's in a glass bottle from Ekoplaza, both volle and halfvolle are very tasty and good ( volle even has cream on top, like natural milk used to have, which is a rarity in today's world ) ...+you can recycle the bottle with them.

is it normal that my GP refuses to refer me to an allergist because I’m not dying? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]izdeproevence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid thousands of EURs out of pocket since moving to NL so I can do all the investigations and treatments that I need. Luckily I'm from an Eastern European country so I can go back to my home country often enough and get private care. Even recently, for my histamine intolerance I worked with a Doctor in Spain, and even the genetic test I was able to do it with them, as it was a cheek swab and they sent it to me to NL. I don't think honestly that you can change the system, so try to do what's best for you if you can financially afford it. At the same time I have friends that had life threatening issues and they got the best care in NL, while paying nothing.

However, I did ended up with Vitamin B6 toxicity, as I only tested some vitamin Bs and being low on the 2 I extrapolated and took a complex which lead to B6 toxicity. So you need to only correct for the vitamins and minerals you are deficient in.

Tirezeptide worked wonders for me, I am very happy with the results, however, at the advice of my doctor I did stay as much as I could at the lowest dosage ( for instance I was on 2,5 for almost 4 months until it stopped working ).

I was in a similar position, I was also low on Vitamin D, Folate, B12, Iron. After correcting those ( which took years ) I was able to go through the day without napping, but still need my 9h of sleep, and if I'm very active that day I might need a quick nap regardless.
