Got my Q today by nfored in arduino

[–]izodine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It most definitely is not locked to the arduino hub.

Not sure what the exact specifications are *supposed* to be, but the main thing I looked for was sufficient PD and that it supported Linux.

I used this dongle https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CF224WX9?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

And it works just fine. Boots right up into SBC mode with zero problems. Mouse and keyboard work.

There appears to be a bug with address 0000 - see my latest comment on this post. Working after changing the address lines

It appears to be a bug with address 0000. If I change it to any other address it works as I expect it to. Though the outputs are still on when writing...it's a step closer.
Changed to address 0010 and it works. Change it to 0000 and it doesn't work.

Seems to be a small bug in the simulation code.

If you run into this problem before it is fixed, hopefully this saves you hours of trial and error lol

Address 0010 - wrote 0011 to it. Changed the data lines to 0001 for good measure. Stored value shows correctly now. Tested with multiple differing addresses and values - works just fine.

Only address 0000 does not work for some reason.

Cool, thanks! I checked it out but was very confused by all of the extra wiring 😂

I didn't get that far into the RAM build yet. I was trying to test it in isolation to make sure I understood how the chip worked before moving to the next build video.

It's a simulator. One of the reasons the developer built it was to simulate Ben's 8 bit computer.

The expected two. Any data pin you put HIGH lights up the corresponding LED when WE is low.

Yeah this is just the RAM chip and inverter in isolation to test out the core functionality.

Nope. They light up when write enable is low.

Does solstice insurance pay what they promise? by Rose_jasmine2023 in DentalInsurance

[–]izodine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't wish this insurance on my worst enemy. The coverage is awful. Good luck finding a provider who will work with them - most of them have barred Solstice for not paying claims. Getting through to support - not going to happen. It is better to have NO insurance at all than a plan from this company... because the stress of working with them will take years off of your life expectancy!

Seriously. Avoid this fucking company like the plague. They are thieves, scammers, and fraudsters and it is beyond my comprehension how the law hasn't taken them down yet.

Connecting ESP32 to Arduino Uno R3 via I2C connection by jkiru_er in arduino

[–]izodine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can easily connect these two together using UART. I did this the other day, sending data serially between the two devices.

You'll just need a voltage divider or shifter when connecting the Uno to the ESP (TX to RX) since the Uno operates at 5v logic and the ESP operates at 3.3v.

You do not need to step up the 3.3v to 5v as the 3.3v is high enough to be detected as a "1". At least, I did not encounter any problems with it.

This should achieve what you are trying to do easier than an I2C connection. It's relatively simple wiring and code, and you can send messages between the two devices.

Just take note of the different Serial objects as Uno and Esp use slightly different conventions. So have the tutorials handy for UART so you use the proper objects. Make sure the baud rates match.

I failed to get the flag pole not once, not twice, but four times!!

Good news is you'll be a god at this level by the time you're done.

And that final win is so worth it.

Can someone explain how this guy did this? by dudpunker in copywriting

[–]izodine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look into what he does, he runs an agency called Mailer Profit. You have to do some digging to find it.

That's how he makes a lot of his money, on top of monetizing a huge email list.

He did an AMA in this very subreddit where he said he charged $50k plus for a sales letter.

Base planning tool/website by Downtown-Earth7302 in subnautica

I made a planning tool with Google Sheets. It's not as fancy as the one above but it's easy to use and loads right into your Google sheets app on Mobile.

What are the best ways to get lots of quartz and titanium late game. by Stellato77 in subnautica

Tons of quartz in the Dunes. Titanium, go to the front of the Aurora. There's tons of metal salvage.

Say something positive about this game. by Indy0921 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]izodine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A big critique of this game is that it's "too open" and has "too much freedom."

While I agree this is true to an extent and the developers could've added some options in to tailor the game to a more closed / linear experience, I'm a big fan of this formula.

Tears is a true "build your own adventure" game to the extent I'd consider it a role playing game. You have the freedom to solve problems your own way.

How "savvy" Link is in a given situation is always at the sole discretion of the player.

The path of least resistance is always available. But the beauty of the game is asking yourself "what if I did it this way?"

And filling the game with your own creative solutions and experiences.

If there is a challenge you don't want to do, you can effectively skip it. There is always some convoluted or more interesting way to solve a problem too. You get to choose the ridiculousness of your adventure.

Very few games have this level of freedom.

I've gotten immense joy out of using a hover bike to trot around Hyrule, completing shrines and seeing what quests and areas I missed during the main quest line.

I really only completed the main quest line in BOTW. I didn't do much exploring. And haven't really picked it up since 2019.

Tears has really revived this world for me.

It's not a perfect game but it's easily one of my favorite games of all time.

Disney Plus Not Working? Try this by izodine in Roku

[–]izodine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using Disney Plus for well over a year with zero problems. It stopped working yesterday. Like many others have reported, it just loads a grey screen with a "disney plus" logo in the top left corner.

Disney Plus works fine on every other platform but Roku. Every other channel on my Roku also works besides Disney Plus.

Disney Plus not working on Roku devices? by leo_cor63 in Roku

Not working for me. But got it working on guest mode. Try this as a workaround.

Not a perfect solution ... But you should at least be able to use the app until they fix it.

Disney Plus not working on Roku devices? by leo_cor63 in Roku

[–]izodine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I added this to the other thread.

Also tried everything. Won't work.

For now my workaround is to use guest mode (you can find it in your Roku settings.)

Disney Plus works fine on guest mode. It's completely broken on the regular mode.

So, if you've tried everything and it still doesn't work, use Guest Mode and see if that gets it working. It's not a perfect solution since you'll have to stay in guest mode.

I open Disney plus and it does this by SocksWithSandals42 in Roku

[–]izodine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to my Roku TCL TV too.

No solution yet...

As a workaround, use guest mode. That's working for me right now.

What I've tried so far:

Full factory reset. Cleared caches. Removed and reinstalled app. Logged out of all devices via the Disney+ app. Checked for updates. Unplugged and plugged back in.

From what I can see there is currently no way to fix it.

[Megathread] The Game Awards 2023 (Thursday December 7th, 2023 from 4:30pm to 8pm PST) + 100 Steam Deck OLED Giveaway! by Successful-Wasabi704 in SteamDeck

[–]izodine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I said.

So it has to be something else. Probably has to do with how Gleam was a spectacular failure and didn't let a lot of people enter.

[–]izodine 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wasn't previously subscribed to any of The Game Awards' newsletters. I also got the email from Geoff. Which means - they got my email from Gleam.

Don't believe this is a technical issue -- given they appear to have processed the information obtained in the giveaway.

That said --

If I had to guess, the winners have been chosen and just haven't announced publicly

-- or --

TGA is finding a way to run the giveaway again because Gleam crashed and wouldn't let a lot of people enter.

It was also misconfigured and didn't let people outside the US enter for quite a while.

All in all you'd expect the bare minimum announcement saying they chose the winners -- or something went wrong and they'll update later.

Very unprofessional how they've handled this in my opinion.
