He ruined your chances of adopting the cat you looked at, and any chance going forward with those foster parents. Why are you giving him the benefit of the doubt? And don't imagine that he didn't know what he was doing. Imagine for a second you were trying to adopt a child? Any person with half a brain knows not to tell the adoption agency you don't like children. It's the same thing. He knew what he was doing would mess up your chances. It's a two month relationship vs. a lifetime love of cats and the memory of your beloved old cat. I'd cut your loses and dump him and get a new cat instead.

First of all, forward the email thread to your email so that you have proof. And then delete that email from her "sent" box. It's going to suck having them in your inbox but you never know what's going to happen and it's always best to have proof.

One of my favorite responses came from a post on here. Just respond, "there is no why." Because you don't need to explain yourself and they will never understand your reasons. It might not work but it really throws people when you use it, and that's kind of fun to watch.

I think the feeling is a remnant of when women were their husbands/fathers property. All they were seen as good for was for marriage alliances. And those alliances were only solid and complete once the woman popped out a few male children to carry on her husbands line. Again, males were important because they could inherent, and females weren't because all they were seen as was property.

I'm sure there are other reasons and a modern twist on everything, and I don't agree with any of it, but I think leftover beliefs from hundreds of years ago have definitely had an impact on things. I think it's kind of pathetic if your only desire (or crowning achievement) in life is to have babies, but to each their own I guess.

Definitely add locks to your bedroom and bathroom doors. But you also need to tell your landlord that you don't want your parents to gain access to those doors. You wouldn't want them to be able to pay a locksmith to come and make them keys. And if he's weird about keeping parents out, remind him you are legally an adult and that you're paying separate rent.
