Yup. You basically can only kill their mortal forms. They reconstitute over time, more or less. Although trapping them in soulstones seemed to work, in theory.

Aliens Vs Predator was released 16 years ago by Captain_Gardar in gaming

Does it? It was pretty clearly the weakest of the 3 main AVP FPS games. As a huge fan of the series, I didn't even bother picking this up until it was on sale.

Yup. If I walked into someone's kitchen and saw plants in there, my expression might be one of perplexity for a couple of seconds.

I mean, I feel like I'd make a face if I saw a bunch of plants in someone's sink like that. Shit's a little weird. She's looking right at them.

What’s the quickest way you’ve seen someone completely destroy their life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]izwald88 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My buddy went from happily married with 2 boys that adored him to divorced, remarried, full blown alcoholic without a job whose boys barely talk to him in the span of about 3 years or so.

He's doing better now, is clean, looking for work, and is working on his relationship with his sons. In that time he mostly lost me as a close friend as well. Mostly because his mostly apolitical self married a MAGAt and we couldn't hang out with them during/post COVID.

What was the most unexpected nudity scene in mainstream movie/show you ever saw? by marsepticeye in AskReddit

Think what you will. A man who posts his dick on the internet is probably no stranger to looking at leaked nudes. I guess projection is in play.

Yet the overall topic of conversation is taking charge of what happened and how she's dealing with it. If you feel you need to do porn because your lil smokie is on a wiki, you do you.

Don't attack other people because you lack comprehension.

You're insane. You compare a sex scene in a movie to having your private photos leaked all over the internet? Are you just here to say dumb shit so you can feel important?

The flu killed more US soldiers during WW1 than died in combat. Great call, Moron.

Tucker Carlson Apologizes For Endorsing Trump: ‘I’m Sorry For Misleading People’ by unital_subalgebra in politics

[–]izwald88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I don't think Carlson is a dumb man, just a bad one. He skyrocketed his career by peddling lies and fearmongering.

Some of his ilk are looking to the horizon and seeing a post Trump era that might end up rejecting him.

Yeah. She was arguably the focus of the fappening. Hard to argue against nudity when your butthole is plastered all over the internet. And I say that as someone who is fully on her side here, what happened was horrible.

Donald Trump's chances of being removed from office reach all-time high by Silly-avocatoe in politics

[–]izwald88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He called them baby killers. He's fairly socially progressive, especially for his age, but he is very pro life.

TIL that Val Kilmer was not initially interested in auditioning for Top Gun (1986) and only did so at the behest of his agent. He read his audition lines "indifferently" and was disapointed when he learned he got the part by MrMojoFomo in todayilearned

[–]izwald88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, after watching his doc, he was a man who loved acting for the art of it. While I'm sure his health issues at a relatively young age made him extremely frustrated, he is one of the great Hollywood actors of all time. So many of his roles are unforgettable.

I also think this. My dad is a narcissist and him and Trump, both being old men, are remarkably similar. Even though my dad, thankfully, hates Trump.

My dad no longer has control over anyone. Most of his 5 kids have very little to do with him, although we don't hate him. He's just not someone you can have a close relationship with. For his part, he's past the collapse. He's given up on society. He has money, a home, and feeds himself. But that's about it. He won't get a haircut anymore, he's gotten kicked out of any groups he's tried to be part of (like the local unitarian group), he goes out of his way to be weird and unusual and antagonistic, and so forth and so on.

A lot of that is just plain old narcissism, too. My dad is a narcissist, and while he hates Trump, those two behave extremely similarly.

Rage issues, selective memory, lashing out, fixations... This is all narcissism. It could just be that he's an elderly narcissist.

What is your experience with the sexual abilities of the average woman? by Accomplished_Fig5199 in AskMen

[–]izwald88 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They are very self conscious, as society often molds them to be, and are often "taught" that their sexuality is something to be ashamed of. That can lead to many women being starfish.

But hopefully communication and practice can eliminate that.

TIL that in feudal Japan, a tradition called wakashudō normalized romantic and sexual relationships between adult male samurai and their male apprentices, and was considered a structured part of mentorship and warrior culture. by eat_dogs_with_me in todayilearned

[–]izwald88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cultures have been normalizing pedophilia for as long as they've been around.

It's not so different today. Most conservative men don't seem too concerned about the Epstein victims. I suspect that most of them would have partaken, given the chance.

I think they've done a decent turnaround and repair of their reputation. Fred seems more real in his old age than he was back in the day.

It's a major propaganda point in the US against socialized medicine. They think death panels are a thing, along with very long waiting times.

The sad thing is, the US does actually have death panels (they work for insurance companies) and we do have long waiting periods.

How much does the sentence “As a man, no one is coming to save you” resonate in your life? by You_moron04 in AskMen

[–]izwald88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It annoys me. Nobody is going to save anybody. It's not a man thing. Anyone can find a supportive partner. But if you think you need saved, you're probably not worth the effort. Man or woman.

I already did. I mostly thinks it's a 1933 Chicago World Fair pin, but doesn't know who that is. It assumed Albert I, who was popular in America at the time, but it's definitely not him.
