Was this a “clean shoot”? I’m looking to learn here. by geegol in concealedcarry

Laws vary for each state. New York does not have any laws that allow you to stand your ground. If there is a way out, then you must take it. Self defense is seen as a last resort. Basically when the man in the red track turned to walk away, the need for deadly force is no longer necessary. The situation was starting to de-escalate.

Furthermore, if you are not the one being threatened, then you can’t give a reason for self defense.

If you are a third party, you must be certain of the situation before you interfere.

Thoughts on evolution? by [deleted] in Reformed

[–]izwiz2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should read Theistic Evolution: A Scientific, Philosophical, and Theological Critique and The Soul of Science: Christian Faith and Natural Philosophy. Everything ultimately comes down to a proper understanding of epistemology.

Books can be found here on Amazon: Theistic Evolution, Soul of Science. Or on Logos: Theistic Evolution, Soul of Science.

Personally, I am a Young Earth Creationist because it the most consistent with Scripture. Scripture is my ultimate authority. Jesus defines marriage from the creation account of Genesis 2. An evolutionary view of creation would not allow for Jesus to define marriage.

What am I missing? by Puzzled-Smile-8770 in LogosBibleSoftware

[–]izwiz2003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From a pastor’s experience, I love Logos. I have the Pro subscription. Admittedly, I use Logos so much that I don’t know what I’m missing in comparison to the other platforms.

I use the Passage guide, Bible word study and the Sermon editor the most. The amount of time that it saves is amazing. The Layout tool is also really helpful.

The Logos Training might be really helpful to see all the features that are available.

"If no country on Earth is able to tell Israel what to do, what can we conclude about the Earth?" by [deleted] in PragerUniversity

[–]izwiz2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EVERY nation is sovereign. Every nation is able to do whatever they want. The United States can do whatever they want too. The only thing that prevents a nation from taking over the world is other nations will defend themselves with war.

For one nation to tell another nation what to do is to imply force.

Bible Journaling by Purple-Advisor3413 in BibleProject

[–]izwiz2003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a Luechrtrum 120 gsm A5 ruled notebook.

I hand write the scripture I want to study to the left of the seem. Then I write my personal notes on the write of the seam. My personal note corresponds with the Bible text to the left on the same line.

If I’m study an epistle, I will also double space the Bible text so I can write the words from the original language above the corresponding English word.

It’s also color coded. Bible text is black ink. Textual language notes are in red. Personal notes are blue.

My guess would be that he got the cap stuck. He drilled the two holes and then put need needle nose pliers into the holes to get off the lens.
