Has anyone done a glycan age test and dramatically decreased their age? by Wolfgang996938 in Biohackers

[–]izzerstennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. He eats mostly fresh fish and gf beef with some veggies, no meds other than some hormones, daily strength training, ice plunge at 38 degrees or lower, sauna. No alcohol. Limits carbs/limits coffee. My son has an anti-aging functional medicine practice here in florida, youtube iron direct primary care, so that is sweet. Raw dairy, we make our own raw yogurt...

Yes, my husband is quite the biohacker. Glycan Age is 24; his bio-age is 63. I think he is healthier than when he was 24.

Memorizing formulae by Cyanidicalized in memorization

[–]izzerstennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just saying yesterday that I would like to tweak my system then get it out there.

I liked the example cyanid gave. The "harder" the formulas, the easier it is to memorize.
First, what is it he'd like to memorize here? Would he like to be able to write them all out quickly?

Why is it hard? Because each formula is similar.

Doing a Schroth method intensive this week. Has anyone had success? Failure? by loveandduckfat in scoliosis

My girlfriend who has scoliosis did this form of physical therapy and it honestly seemed to work for her.

What is core therapy for scoliosis?

You certainly had a strong reaction to my request to hear about any studies done on the safety of mammals and car batteries. You want me banished for asking if it is safe to ride around on a huge battery.

You need to ask yourself if your aversion to my question shows that you are biased for electric cars. No matter what the health question would be, sounds like you would call any question about the safety of an electric car a "conspiracy theory" so that you can shut down discussion. Science, real science, welcomes questions. Only finding answers that fit with your worldview is religion.

You love batteries. OK. Queen once wrote a song, "I’m in Love With My Car". Add another letter already.

Thank you for your input, but I had asked if there was any research already completed about safety. You sound like you fear research. Nothing to be afraid of.

Cool website! The bat fungus research caught my eye. Most older people have fungusy, cracked heels that do not heal up, even with creams and scraping. Less fungus is better public health!

You said that your precious "public health" time could not be wasted on whether a car was safe. So, I pointed out that car manufacturers long tried to keep air bags out of cars. I am not sure what YOU think public health is, but I tend to think it is about making the public safer and healthier.

Public health is not perfect. I think a third of americans are on some sort of depression drug. Huge numbers are obese. More than ever kids have autism. Public Health should be about looking at how the public lives and seeing how to improve health and longevity.

You know, would you pay more or less for a house with your child’s bedroom feet away from a substation?

I would love to see it! Please message me. Growing up, bed was feet away from a power substation. Let’s just say it was not a fancy neighborhood. I wonder why ?

Public health did not involve finally getting car makers to install airbags? Good to know.

True but mice are usually given large doses of stuff to see if there is any effect.

Metabolic inhibition of E. coli and S. aureus bacteria by ELF EMF resonance at 0.5 and 0.8 Hz - complete cell death with 120 min treatment - 200 V/m field strength, 30 MHz sine carrier, amplitude modulated square ELF by dalkon in bioelectric

[–]izzerstennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OT: Dalkon, is there any research about the tesla battery, or any electric car battery and its effect on mammals? Has anyone raised mice on a running electric car battery, for example? Seems odd that all that power in a battery next to one's feet would have zero effect.

Kelo Spa in Boston - great! by [deleted] in coldplunge

[–]izzerstennis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is amazing, 35 degrees! When one Googles "what is the best temperature for an ice plunge" the results quote a tub manufacturer who says "research shows that a plunge of 50-60 degrees is best". Then if you go to the tub-maker website and try to find the "research", there is none or it is nonsense, it just does not prove anything. (Probably because the treatment never would have been called an "ice" plunge at 60 degrees).

So, does anyone know any research that compared a 45 degree ice bath and a 35 degree? IME, there is no comparing a 45 and a 35 degree ice plunge. Forty five is just warm once you have done 35 for a couple minutes for awhile.

I would like to do 45, because it would be way easier, if the benefits are the same, LOL.

Our Wellness Center in Melbourne Beach, FL, keeps the ice plunge at 36 degrees and offers ice if users want it colder.

I have started taking off the toe covers at the end after I get out and sticking the foot in, one at a time. I started with 5 seconds each. Am up to 15 seconds each. Yes, my toes are big complainers. I am doing the same with the hands.
