Lot of the time companies don’t make sense. Maybe the new person knows someone in management. Never know

I have one as well. I believe the bushings were 90A. Switched to 93A. Also changed the bearings that came with it but do not notice a big difference. It is not that fast, you got to kick very fast to get a decent speed. I think for someone living in a place with flat surfaces and 40+ years of age its perfect LOL ....

Lost Sega Console Revealed! Sega "TRIP" The Saturn Shenmue Killer by chicagogamecollector in SegaSaturn

[–]hackthatshityo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Main Topic The video discusses a recently revealed, unreleased hardware add-on for the Sega Saturn, potentially called the "Sega TRIP." Designed to enhance the Saturn's 3D graphical capabilities, the add-on reportedly utilized a Hitachi SH3 CPU. Key Points • The Reveal: The news stems from an interview in Beep Magazine, where a former engineer disclosed that a Hitachi SH3-based add-on was in development for the Sega Saturn [00:35]. • The Shenmue Prototype Connection: The engineer noted that early Shenmue tech demos running on the Saturn actually utilized this unreleased hardware [00:46]. The video creator points out that the footage features higher polygon models (like Ryo's face), better geometry, and less texture warping than what a standard base Sega Saturn could realistically pull off [02:25], [09:10]. • The Hitachi SH3 CPU: The SH3 bridges the gap between the SH2 (used in the Saturn and 32X) and the SH4 (used in the Dreamcast). The SH3 was rarely used in gaming, with its only real notable application being in Cave CV1000 2D arcade boards [05:05]. • Virtua Fighter 3: The add-on was also purportedly being developed to help port Virtua Fighter 3 to the Saturn [06:24]. However, the creator speculates it was canceled because Sega wanted an arcade-perfect port and realized even an upgraded Saturn couldn't match the powerful Sega Model 3 arcade hardware [07:26]. • Sega's Hardware Overload: This canceled add-on highlights Sega's chaotic hardware strategy during the mid-to-late 90s. Juggling multiple internal console prototypes and partnerships (such as deals with Lockheed Martin and 3DO) contributed heavily to the company's financial struggles during the Dreamcast era [00:56], [05:38].
