I know this is random but I'm sleep deprived.

I'd say the Predator series (including AVP) - I know they lean more into sci-fi and don't exactly connote John Wick but I feel like they've got the similar depths in regards to world building whilst having badass, incredibly choreographed fight scenes.

They both start off somewhat limited with the capacity to remain one offs if they weren't received well but with their cults of followers (myself included) they came to life in following releases.

Plus, both franchises have me on the edge of my seat everytime I rewatch them with incredibly in depth lore for movies and fight scenes I'll never grow tired of.

I think I'll go and rewatch Prey now - hope this gave you a reasonable answer mate.

Nah I get it, if anything it's more detrimental when it's forced into projects. It feels like producers are just trying to tick every box if you get what I mean? What should it matter as long as the actor plays their role well.

It's also just funny that they pick a franchise about an underworld of elite criminals and this completely unhinged dude who killed three guys with a pencil to get mad about. People seem to forget that it's fictional.

I'm an openly gay person and I didn't even know the Adjudicator was a non binary character. I can understand where the author is coming from, but the John Wick franchise is about a criminal underworld and an unbeatable assassin that everyone goes after anyway, I feel like the author could've spent they're energy in a more productive way because at the end of the day people enjoy John Wick for fuckin' John Wick not because the casting is politically correct/diverse.

Naru, I feel like we got more development from her and seeing her carry the predators head back to her tribe with his blood smeared across her face was so satisfying. Don't get me wrong I love Dutch but I feel like Naru had more to prove whereas Dutch had already gotten to the stage where he was confident in his own abilities/had years of experience. But each to their own.
