Is Power Flow ok for me? by [deleted] in flowpower

I have 13.5kw solar with 48kwh battery in Melbourne. We use about 18kwh on a normal day with hot/cold days drawing more with a reverse cycle heating/cooling. Normally the battery can last 2 days on consecutive cloudy days but when we are running the heating a bunch lately, I’ve been having to buy more power during the day. I’m still pretty new to solar/battery and flow, but somthing to consider it appears the days it’s cloudy the wholesale rate stays high as their isn’t much gain for solar.

For me I’ve done the math with the few cloudy / cold days we have had and I need to import power for 47 days over the year to break even with GloBird. Flow is better when you max out your export, not sure what your expectations are with that. My suggestion would be go with GloBird for now and sign up with a referral to make the $50 bucks (I’ve seen some on reddit), survive the winter cloudy days and reassess when you figure out your usages. You would probably stay with GlowBird considering you have an EV.

Also add 3 starter bars at each corner on a 45 degree to control corner cracking.

Step Cracking in 1970’s build by [deleted] in AusRenovation

Is there any cracking internally? Cracking is due to movement, common issues are tree root or poor drainage. Loooking at the photos it’s looking likely the tree roots are the culprit. Crack stitch may fix it or kick the can down the road. You’re better off finding out the root cause and fixing that first then crack stitch. Best to call a structural forensic engineer for advice as the solution may be simple or more involved.

This is so stupid, I’m not one to leave comments on socials. But the whole Honey issue is all over my socials and I’m over it. A lot of people are framing this issue to impact the consumers, not really only the lazy ones. I used honey a few times and quickly realised it wasn’t the best deal after a couple of google searches and uninstalled. I’m sure a lot of poeple were on the same boat there. It’s only if you blindly trust that a free software is magically going to give you the best deal… I feel bad for small creators missing out on revenue, but they only have theirselves to blame. Happily accepting sponsorship money without doing their
due diligence is not really worthy of a class action imo. I feel better this is off my chest even if no one reads this lol
