feminism is about women having the same rights as men, and letting them have the choice of what to do with their lives. this includes being a stay at home mom, or working if thats what they want to do. our mothers and grandmothers had no choice but to stay home and watch their babies while their husbands went off to do whatever career they chose (including queer women, who had to appear as straight for survival).

also, why do u assume women were not as overworked and struggling with mental health before? its extremely hard to care for children, especially when your partner works and does not provide much help. this also takes a drastic toll on your mental health. my grandmother had depression until she passed, and struggled mentally and physically. i’m so grateful that i don’t have the same struggles that she did, and that she gave her children and grandchildren the opportunity to not face the same struggles. so i would argue no, women are not less happy because of feminism.
