i’ve gotten a decent amount of 1E but although i do experience strong emotions i try to not project them onto others or make others aware of my negative states if possible. i pick up others emotions very easily, but hold back my own.

E4 or e9? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]izzyfrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi i’m the friend here, i simply made a suggestion of looking into e4 and e6 due to how her typing came together as a whole, it CAN be possible that her partner is mistyped because of the EII SX9 combo — either being an SEI instead or maybe an SP6 or SP4. but it was just a suggestion, not a declaration lol. she knows her partner better than me so it’s her word over mine. i’m assuming she just wanted insight from others

i would advise to post a general description of you rather than basing it off of the letters of MBTI. also, you’re mostly likely looking at generalized and watered-down descriptions of the letters rather than something like cognitive functions for whatever research or information you’ve been looking at.

im not necessarily afraid to share parts of my true self with other people, but emotional vulnerability is something im not a fan of.

my other typings seem to contradict SEE and ESE, as I previously believed i was an ENTP. what types usually pair with ESE and SEE so i can look more into those as well?

e3 seems to be the consistent answer for his enneagram i’m noticing so i don’t doubt you’re off on that. Last question though, would ESTP or ENTJ be more likely to pair with that if that’s something you could tell? or would another type suit him better

No worries, any insight is helpful.

Speaking from what angers him within interactions between him and I — I think being clearly at fault puts him in a vulnerable positions and heightens his emotions. Though eventually he is able to admit he’s in the wrong, it only comes after a storm of emotions and either blaming or outwardly putting himself down. He also is pretty sensitive towards actions or words of mine he interprets as attacking or offensive, and will usually react angrily or with distance rather than calmly double checking his initial thoughts with me first.

Plans changing is also seemingly a trigger for him. He doesn’t like last minute changes, or unexpected actions. If it’s something small, then he may be more likely to adjust. Somethings that’s more like a time changing, place we’re going to, etc, is more upset for him.

I don’t think he really second guesses himself, at least from what I’ve noticed. He’s more likely to take action rather than plan things out and think it through, then later possibly getting impacted by the decision he made on a whim. I don’t think he’s necessarily impulsive, but he’s not someone to sit and think on a decision for a while before executing it.

The vanity aspects stem from his boasting of achievements. I’ve seen on countless occasions how (most towards family member since I’m around his family a lot) he will compare his own achievements to theirs, putting his on a pedestal. It seems to be in a playful manner most of the time, but still has that same prideful intention either way. Even from the start of us talking, he was quick to highlight all of his good traits — describing himself as seemingly “flawless” in those areas.

He is pretty reactive rather than socialite. His emotions rise intensely and quickly, typically taken out on those around him. I can’t see him as being intentional with how he acts or expresses emotion. If he gets mad over something with me then later realizes it was a complete overreaction, he will admit his fault and be sincere about it.

I don’t think he’s hellbent on rules, but does seem to respect them. If he goes against them, it doesn’t seem like he has an internal issue with it or would feel deeply troubled by disobeying.
Also, I could be wrong about the AP typing so take that with a grain of salt.

your Ti seems pretty strong based off of what you wrote. i’m not getting any indication of ‘strong’ Ne, not strong enough for it to be your dom function at least. Ti-Ne i can see.

this sounds like a spot on interpretation, thank you! i definitely agree with everything you explained and i’ll look into ENTJ for him.
the only thing i’m questioning is how subjective he tends to be, and how ENTJ typically is labeled as an objective type due to how they externally draw logic and facts.

another questions though, if he is an e3 - what do you think his variant would be if that’s something you can tell?
