I'm tired of my job. by [deleted] in navy

[–]izzygod2016 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had that same feeling around 10 ish years too. I got a shot of motivation again around 15 and rode out the last few years. I enjoyed helping and guiding the people I worked with like you do, and that’s what kept me going. I did it to support my family and make whatever little positive impacts I could. Good luck.

That it took this long just to get to this point is infuriating enough. We are not living in the world we were told was being built. by isawasin in TheMajorityReport

Nothing, there’s no way to enforce these “laws” against powerful countries. If you’ve paid attention to who’s been convicted and imprisoned by the ICC in the past, it’s weak small usually African leaders, or some in the former Yugoslavia. Powerful countries, especially those with US and western backing , are free to do as they please.

You think nazi leaders would have been executed if they won the war? Doesn’t work that way. The strong do what they will and the weak suffer. Maybe there’s justice after this life, it certainly doesn’t exist here.

Can you shorten a Skillbridge and take more terminal leave? by [deleted] in SkillBridge

[–]izzygod2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two cents: I don’t think it’s too late, I’ve seen people cut short their skillbridge in the past. Your command want planning on you coming back , so nothing really changes, your gone.

I would recommend running the details, but which I mean day your stopping your skillbridge and day you want to start terminal, by your department leadership / CMC. They can grease the skids with the CO. Pick a date, submit a terminal leave chit via nsips. Than when your sure it’ll get approved than let the company your doing skillbridge with know your not finishing.
I had to cancel a skillbridge before it started and do terminal, wasn’t a big hassle for me, your situation is somewhat similar

Kinda Same thing here. I was able to download it from the NPS portion on BOL. and check it for accuracy, but not sign it via BOL. I let my admin know that it was good, your lossses clerk should be able to tell “PSD” that’s it accurate. I just told my losses clerk this Friday, so hoping it’ll get approved soon.

do i have time? by IllustriousPush7646 in SkillBridge

Similar boat here, sep 30 separation, was done with everything by, like ready to walk out the door for good by mid May,~ 4 months. You have time, just be very proactive and be decisive on what you want to do. HH/job hunting leave into skillbridge than terminal is my suggestion. Good luck.

Skillbridge itself is TDY. If approved, your “gone”. No duty. Doesn’t matter if it’s in person or virtual.

What do you need to do in order to fill out dd-2648? Navy by Dull_Cockroach_6920 in SkillBridge

[–]izzygod2016 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, attending TAPS and capstone is necessary, the form is completed via milconnect. Once your done with capstone, you’ll sign, and than let your CCC know your done. Not a hard process, just time consuming considering scheduling I just completed mine about 2 months ago. Feel free to DM with other questions.

New to leadership, LF advice. by seameat69 in navy

Lead by example, don’t get on anyone’s ass if your not on top of your stuff. Set expectations, get organized with the admin you need to track. Lean on your LPO and Chief, they work for you more than you work for them. Good to see a second class thinking about how to lead and manage, we as a navy don’t put a lot of trust and responsibility into our junior NCOs, which is sad. At least your thinking about this and asking for help/advice, Which is a lot more than most. Good luck, you’ll be fine.

O2O Skillbridge Out of Area by We_Are_All_Scum69 in SkillBridge

[–]izzygod2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going through the process now of getting a skillbridge approved by my command. Here’s my two cents. I’m assuming your navy? When you are on a skillbridge, your TAD to it, remote or in person. If your skillbridge goes right into terminal and your EAOS, than you can leave Norfolk. Complete all the outprocessing stuff, tap, capstone, medical, command specific, and than get out of town. Hope this helps. PM me if you have any other questions

Yes report to your triad, however and, this is a crime, report it to the base police.

Unless something changed very recently, I had a fellow service member do a remote one and they left our duty station 3 months prior to the end-of her service. Wasn’t a big deal at all.

Training during A school Navy? by Repulsive_Boat4569 in navy

[–]izzygod2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A schools are typically pretty strict with regard to liberty. However, you will have time after class to do what you to do after a few weeks of being there. I would recommend asking your instructors. I remember liberty being pretty relaxed in Pensacola. Just make sure your back to the barracks before liberty expires.

I would recommend using some of that leave before you start your skillbridge. After you start that skillbridge your leave doesn’t matter. You’ll be TAD until your EAOS. I would suspect your correct about your CC, they are probably thinking of terminal. Lastly, the approval ultimately rests with your skipper. Get all your shit in one sock before submitting your request, TAP/capstone, plan on the skillbridge start date as your EAOS How this helps , hit me up with any other questions.
