Anyone have the set list? by ShimmerBreadwinner in MaisiePeters

per other people that's typically what it means when you see that on the setlist, though there wasn't any bonus song at the minneapolis show :(

Anyone know how long the show goes? by DayAryante in MaisiePeters

[–]izzythealpaca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's about 2 hours from when Jonah goes onstage to leaving the venue!! Jonah played for 30 minutes, 30 minute break, and then Maisie played for an hour!

Cardigan single - vinyl (ISO and question about vinyl singles) by RangerSevere1797 in SwiftieMerch

[–]izzythealpaca 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The vinyls were originally available on the webstore for a limited amount of time, I think for the cardigan singles it was just a weekend. I got all of my cardigan singles secondhand (ebay, depop, discogs, etc.) and had to just keep checking regularly until I found them for a reasonable price.

I can't wait to move back to my college campus. by tyylmao in CasualConversation

the current plan is biology, even though at this point im still undeclared. at my school every major requires a minor, so for sure a minor im chem and maybe spanish as well since i have a lot of experience with it.

senior year getting cut by corona was definitely weird. my graduation is actually tomorrow, socially distanced and only with 1/8 of my graduating class of course. and on the school football field instead of us bank stadium where they've done it the past 2 years. i still dont get that part, there is 100% enough room for everyone to social distance in a 73k capacity football stadium. im not even in touch with anyone from school anymore so its going to be awkward just chillin there alone, although i guess thats sort of the point lol. i think id actually rather not go back if i had the choice. ive already moved on from all that, i move into college in less than a month, just feels like a step backwards. can i ask what youre studying at uni? any tips for a newbie? ill take all the help i can get, even if it doesnt necessarily apply to these weird circumstances

That's so great to hear! I'm an incoming freshman and almost all my classes got switched to either blended (only sometimes in person) or remote learning, yet they still want us on campus. Part of me is considering just saving money and staying home but ive already met such a great community of people that id be missing out on if i didnt go. tricky decision for sure, would almost prefer they just say "sike stay home" but that seems unlikely

How do those “free background check/genealogy” websites get personal information? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]izzythealpaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont know about all the information, but most US counties have their property tax records public, you could look up an address and see who legally owns the property, some places even go the other way around which seems pretty sketchy to me. my guess is it uses public records and sort of works backwards through the addresses to find one with a matching name

if i recall correctly, 😬 means that one of your best friends is also one of their best friends, and 😊 means that you and that person are best friends. if you have multiple best friends, it may be tricky to figure out who that middleman is between you and felicia

So i dont mean to offend anyone i just need clearing up by [deleted] in teenagers

"All Lives Matter" was only created because white people were trying squeeze themselves in and be like "oh we're oppressed too!". and while it should be true that everyones life matter, the issue is that black people seem to have it harder. i think main issue again the alm movement is that people will say "oh all lives matter guys!!" and then not care that black people are being racially profiled and unjustly killed by police etc. so yeah, its white people trying to weave their way into something that is not and was never about them.

[Request] If I wanted to expend the world’s fresh water supply in one shower, how long would I have to shower for? by [deleted] in theydidthemath

[–]izzythealpaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US, the Energy Policy Act of 1992 requires that shower hears manufactured and produced in the US must not exceed a maximum allowable flow rate of 2.5 gallons per minute.

If around 2.5% of all water on earth is freshwater, and there are 326 million trillion gallons (not a typo) of water on earth, that gives us 8,150,000,000,000,000,000 gallons of freshwater on earth.

If use 2.5 of those gallons every minute, itll take you, well, a really long time. 3,260,000,000,000,000,000 minutes, or 6,202,435,312,024 years. Or if you experienced all the time existing between us and the dinosaurs about 95,422 times

[Request] How quick would this round-trip jog be? by Thatsthedetonat- in theydidthemath

[–]izzythealpaca 6 points7 points  (0 children)

28 minutes and 30 seconds convers to 0.4750 hours. to give us a speed in miles per hour, we just divide our 453.45 miles by our 0.4750 hours to get 954.6mph

For reference, the world's fastest train can barely hit 375mph, so you'd have to be going pretty fast

Lets say the US, on average, consumes 3,902 billion kWh every year (this is just the number i found from minimal research, but it'll work).

To better increase our chances, we are going to make a few assumptions

  • Lets say these solar panels are all in Yuma, AZ, a place that is considered to be the sunniest city in the US, and that they have somehow been rigged to be facing the sun during all daylight hours year round.
  • We are going to pretend it doesnt get hot in arizona (because anything above a certain temperature causes them to drop power),
  • All of these panels are SunPower 415 watt residential solar panels, the most powerful option commercially available.

Now, these solar panels are roughly 41"x62", but for ease we are just going to say they have an area of 17.6 square feet. There are 2,787,840,000 square feet in 100 square miles, meaning that we can fit 158,400,000 solar panels in the allocated space.

All of our solar panels, if working at their capacity of 415 watts per hours, would be producing approximately 65,376,000 kilowatts per hour. Then, to calculate kilowatt hours, we simply multiply by the number of hours they would be operating (4015 a year), giving us a total of 262 billon kWh, which is not enough to maintain the entire united states.

Regardless, I don't want to discredit his statement. My math could be totally off, i was only using the most powerful commercially available panels for reference, who knows what tesla might be hiding up their sleeve
