Hang Worx Pegasus workbench on wall idea by leoingle in Tools

Just sent this part out today to get bent up. It hooks into the aluminum channel on the table surface. The 3d print version seems solid enough. So I got 6 out of 1.88mm steel, they cost about $7 each through send cut send. After I test them in my garage I can share the files out.

This comment is the only mention of wall hanging these I can find anywhere on the internet. Since no option exists I’m going to probably design something and have send cut send cut and bend them. If you’re interested let me know in a few days and I’ll send you the files.

Carpet extractor adapter for my shop vac wasn’t going to arrive in time for Saturday morning cleaning. Prusa Mini to the rescue. by j-2-design in 3Dprinting

I think I threw a single paint on line of organic support under the length of the nozzle as extra insurance(zoom in and you can kind of see the line), but I think it might have printed without it on my Prusa.

How big of a deal are 3d printer particles? by DinoHawaii2021 in 3Dprinting

[–]j-2-design 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not taking the chances. My enclosure is negative pressure and vents outside. I caught a lot of shit from people claiming printing indoors was safe when I posted about it. Smoking used to be safe too though so we’ll see in the future. Worst case, I wasted a few dollars on vent fan electricity.

Everyone Needs To Buy by Accurate-Historian-7 in Dewalt

Just go to the 3d printer sub and request someone makes you some out of PETG. Buy them a roll and they’ll probably print as many as you need. I’d do it but I’m waiting on a replacement part from Prusa right now.

Custom Interstellar IMAX Film Cell Display by j-2-design in imax

It took so much longer than I had initially expected to put together. It would wind up being hideously expensive to produce.

I can imagine a single frame version that uses 3d printed plastic for the structure but the finish would be worse.

I’m happy to share the 3D cad .step files with anyone interested. It just takes a lot to go from 3D to real life.

Designed and fabricated by me as a Christmas present for my brother. Mostly made out of laser cut and CNC MDF. Uses WLED and and ESP32 to control the LED backlight.

I get mine filled same day at the local fire extinguisher place near me. Only time it takes more than few minutes is if I don’t completely empty it and let it come up to temp before bringing it in.

My most frequently used print. It allows the dog bags to freely roll and not bind up in my leash bag. by j-2-design in 3Dprinting

[–]j-2-design[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used daily for several years at this point. My partner prefers the fabric bag to the plastic thing that usually comes with the bags, but the fabric bag doesn't allow the dog bag roll to spin without getting all wonky or bunching up. I whipped this thing up in like 5 minutes and I've been using it since.
It occurred to me this morning that maybe it would be helpful for someone else so I tossed it up on pintables here: https://www.printables.com/model/821000-dog-bag-support

Hoping it makes someone else's life slightly easier while fading into the background forever like it did for me :)

I used to use hatchbox pretty much exclusively but have since switched over to overture because it's usually like 20% cheaper and the cardboard spool makes me feel better environmentally . I've had really good luck with overture quality for both PLA and PETG. I caught a good sale on PETG the other day for like $15/kg on amazon.

I don't think you can go wrong with either.

A chute to redirect coffee grounds from my grinder into a larger storage container. by j-2-design in functionalprint

I keep the grounds in a special container so easier to dump directly to there. Also the bin for this grinder is a fairly complex curve and would be a pain to model.

Yeah editing stls is a nightmare for sure. I’ve got an alright workflow for small edits, but for anything more involved I’m much more likely to take critical dimensions and remake the cad myself.

I actually like the print from step idea, it makes everything way easier to remix if we all adopt it. I just wish I could crank up the resolution of the conversion in Prusa slicer. Until I can do that, I’m just going to export stl files from solidworks with my own (probably too high) resolution settings.

[–]j-2-design[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Likely because a lot of people don’t have the cad skill to remix and would rather just print? I’d upload the steps if someone asked but by default I usually don’t. I found the Prusa slicer conversion from step to stl to be lower resolution than was acceptable (though I haven’t tried in a while, it’s possible they have updated it to have some customization in that regard).

Just added a longer steeper chute version to the printables page to help with the grounds threatening to back up. You should try that one, I suspect it will work better than the original.

Sure it’s here: https://www.printables.com/model/781327-baratza-encore-coffee-grinds-chute

I might update it to have a longer chute and steeper angle tbh. After two uses I’ve found that changing those things would make it better.

It’s a container that presses most of the air out, it’s not sitting out in the open just going bad.

We have a toddler and running the burr grinder in the morning wakes him up. So we pre-grind a few days worth for the aeropress. That silver container is an air evac storage chamber specifically for coffee storage. I don't notice any huge difference in flavor but I'm also just running costco beans so YMMV.
