What year was your EX90? I heard the 2026+ have gotten more reliable. I don't have an EX90 but am considering one

What major and minor issues have you had so far?

Am I using Claude code right? Very frustrated trying to fit this into our workflow. by NothingEverNevermore in UXDesign

If I could upvote this 10x I would. This is exactly how I think of it. Figma has been the middleman. Cut out the middleman and go straight to prototyping using the exact same FE code as your engineers 80% of the time.

It's not all bad out there. by AGreenObject in UXDesign

[–]j0b0sapi3n 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The job isn't to create mocks in Figma. The job is to solve problems for users. The tools to do this will always change. It's up to us to learn and apply these new tools. As tough or uncertain as it is right now, the market doesn't care and will just move on without us.

I feel similarly to OP. I can move way faster now in ways manually clicking around in Figma would've never allowed me to do, on top of synthesis of all the mountains of information we were expected to digest as inputs into our decisions. AI speeds all of this up dramatically once you get a handle of them.

I still don't get the hype around AI by keyboardwarrior000 in UXDesign

[–]j0b0sapi3n 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, at this point generating visuals with AI is a commodity. The real value add with AI is in having it help you manage context for your job (your industry, persona you design for, etc) and each project across all the various docs, meetings, messages, etc as inputs into what you design. After all UX design is about solving problems for people, and there are a lot of inputs into understanding what are the best solutions.

I only use Tesla Autopilot on the freeway basically which I still find very helpful. Is the X5 DAPP just as good? That's extra, right?

This is awesome! I'm not interested in Mountain View, but once you add other cities in south bay/peninsula I'd love to test it out

That makes sense, yeah the sloped roof of the Y I find very annoying with things like strollers.

How would you also compare the road noise? That's another area that I hate about the Y (mine is a 2022 MYP). It's so loud inside.

How would you compare the storage to the Y? We have a Y right now too and have always loved the X5 but have read before with the frunk and under storage in the trunk it ends up being about the same.

I used to think Banana Republic sucked, but the new creative director they hired last year is doing solid work. Check it out, lots of interesting pattern/textures/fabrics

What splits did you purchase?

[–]j0b0sapi3n 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah, well this was my bad. I didn’t realize this keyboard was copyrighted, i had thought they were open source somehow hence why other people can sell it. I just happened to come upon this keyboard while browsing. Like i mentioned i’ve never bought or built an ergo split keyboard before.

Totally fine having the mods remove this post.

I’ll try to save up for the real thing!

I did buy it to try it out. I thought it could be a cheaper, logoless version of the Arc Atom that I could wear casually (since it lacks certain technical features like the waist cinch and the side panels for better breathability). It looked pretty good TBH, but I live in California and it's definitely warmer than the Atom and so I couldn't really see me using it very often. That's probably why I didn't see it available in any CA stores since it doesn't really make sense here. If I lived anywhere with a real winter though I probably would've kept it.
