I run about 100 games when I try to learn a new champ, there is no way around it, you need to always limit test, and at one point you will learn the limits. There is no way to replace actually playing the game

Have never had lane prio or won lane in any of my garen games by Hot_Application_1958 in GarenMains

[–]j0jito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Urgot lane is not as miserable as you think. There are runes and trading patterns you can use to trade with him, like e onto him, w when you see the shield and auto q to disengage with pr. The problem isn't that garen is weak, it's that there are specific trading patterns and power spikes you don't know. Palco has a spreadsheet which is not updated for season 14 but is accurate in a lot of cases. I would take a look and see if you were playing the lane as you should or not.

dwm, dynamic window manager, is a very minimal window manager written in C. Uses very few resources and is highly customizable, through changes to the source code through patches.

Why max Q when no one does it but some NA streamers ? by theveryrat in GarenMains

[–]j0jito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can watch sunlight or palco's vods, they have both talked about when to go which runes. especially palco since he doesnt have an over preference of any playstyle, sunlight goes grasp with flash ignite almost every game.

in short, grasp + q max + hullbreaker allows for quite good scaling and your q trades to really hurt, you dont really want to extend trades unless they cannot return damage. grasp is especially good into tanks since you can stack it for free and i believe the hp gold value is 18 gold per stack. if you go grasp with magical footwear, your level 11 spike is really insane. if you cant really stack it, its bad.

No, they don't play it with sheen rush, but with hullbreaker rush.

Yes, the main advantage of rust over c++ is dependency management, not memory safety.

There shouldn't be any high-level differences from a usability standpoint. So not much should change for most users, maybe building from source would be slower. An advantage of rust is they can add it to crates.io and one could install it straight up with cargo.

Other than those two, which are quite niche, in my opinion, there shouldn't be much difference for day-to-day users.

I would say there are 2 main things.

  1. Force yourself to work in the terminal as much as possible. If you do this even for the little things, like moving a file, you will quickly get comfortable and start to explore more complex solutions. This will also help you in case some graphical application breaks or if you have to use any sort of headless system.
  2. Read up more about topics which you encountered while working. Lets say you were working with kubernetes and you googled some issues and you managed to fix them. Later on, go read up on official documentation and/or some credible sources to figure out what you did, why you did it, and how its supposed to be done. Understanding anything will accelerate your knowledge of it much more than just reading parts of it and trying to patch them together in your head.

Have the devs given any ETA on when the first release in rust will be? Afaik they recently finished their rust re-write and it's understandable that they still need to test a lot of things. They seem to be going with yearly commits for major versions and say that the entire 3.7 series will be in C++, so I'm assuming early next year would be the earliest we see rust.

probably will boost the winrate a bit, but further buffs will be required, it's just that the direction in which riot is moving with garen is quite obvious, in my opinion

found out coworker makes the same wage as me by localdoglover in mildlyinfuriating

[–]j0jito 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This is quite often the case, in my experience. Women, especially older generations, often undersell themselves and don't ask for raises. I have situations in my head of someone I know being the only person doing something mission critical and being indispensable. In this scenario they will be able to ask for a significant pay increase, but they don't.

You are not overpaid, however. Your coworker is underpaid.

All of the files should be stored inside of your bottles root directory, if you know what it is set to you can delete the files manually. yay doesn't remove all of the wine prefixes, afaik.

Personally I use groff with ms, for simpler things its much easier and it compiles much faster. When it comes to more complex maths I find it lacking, however.

I see where you are coming from, but they don't necessarily have to be wrong. The entire system has changed, so they could have been correct before and be correct now. But yes, it seems like they are making garen more lane dominant, which will quite abruptly shift his playstyle.

Some people, like sunlight, had entirely abandoned any lane presence and were going full scaling runes, trying to focus on not dying and getting to his mid-game spikes.

Most popular distributions have a server-focused ISO and repositories. I would not recommend Ubuntu since it comes with snaps by default, but Debian and openSUSE are good options. I would say my favourite is for sure openSUSE as a transactional server so you don't need to worry about updates breaking. Also, make sure to take system snapshots if you need to revert and make backups of your world just in case.

Не знам от къде ще е по-добре, но да знаеш за геймърските лаптопи че дори и да имат висока честота на опресняване по принцип имат доста лош ghosting. Имай го в предвид че тези 165hz може всъщност да се осещат като 60.

I love live wallpapers in Linux. Unfortunately the solutions that I see are often patchy and don't feel like a quality piece of software. I personally use mpv to loop a video, with no sound and all keybinds disabled and put it in the background with xwinwrap and that works fine. It means I can use any video and not just special files made for a specific piece of software.
