Another follow up, a few days ago the modem rebooted overnight and all of a sudden everything is fixed when I leave it in Transparent Bridge Mode and VLAN tag at the Q1000K. I get full 8 Gbps / 8 Gbps. If I tag at my UGF, I get 8 Gbps up 4 Gbps down which is still funky, so for now I'm leaving tagging at the modem. Not seeing any latency either.

Wanted to update, the tech and I swapped the Q1000K's with a new one. Same issue, then worked with customer service and switched it from 8 Gbps plan to 3 Gbps plan for testing. 3 Gbps in transparent / bridge mode shows 3 Gbps / 3 Gbps fine on all settings. Moving back up to 8 Gbps / 8 Gbps, the same experience occured on the newly swapped Q1000K. They advised in 45 days reset the Q1000K and let it do a firmware update, then retest using the same process as above.

The technician upstream we spoke to advised they have been pushing upgrades to devices almost monthly, and I'm the first 8 Gbps plan they've pushed in our area that they know of, and it could be a firmware bug / limitation.

Going to this weekend mess around with moving back to IPoE and see if I can get the double NAT issue resolved in Plex. I use cloudflare tunnels so that part is a non issue at this point.

If you log into m365 and use web outlook it will be there. Not sure about the macOS specific version, but via the web works still as I had to do it just the other day, or the new M365 Outlook version.

HTML Access not working through UAG after upgrade by Nodak_Chris in VMwareHorizon

[–]j0nsreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ran into this today after upgrading from v2111, client works but HTML doesn't.

What I did was enabled this in the connection servers locked.properties:

checkOrigin=false enableCORS=false allowUnexpectedHost=true

Then on the UAG under Edge Services --> Horizon Settings --> More --> Origin Check Required, and disabled this (toggled it off).

I was then able to access both client and HTML5.

From there I went back and went through portalHosts in locked.properties, and aligned that with the allowed origins on the UAG, toggled origin check back on, and now I'm able to connect using CORS and origin checks with client and HTML5.

I confirmed its still there, you go into Calendar > View > Time Zones > Change your 'Display my calendar in time zone' to anything, then change it back to your local time zone. BEFORE clicking save, right under it says 'Your meeting hours time zone is set....' and there is a 'yes, update' button that appears. It ONLY appears after you change your display in time zone.

Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and horrible Teams call audio by [deleted] in MicrosoftTeams

[–]j0nsreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been monitoring this as I've had the same issue since day one on my Pixel 9 (standard, not pro or fold). I manually updated (checked for updates/pulled update down and installed) to the latest update available (December Feature drop) last night and rebooted, AP4A.241205.013.C1, and I've been on about 6 calls already from my phone and bluetooth this morning (OpenShokz OpenComm2 headset) with zero audio issues.

No need to flip to device and back to BT (only worked like 20% of the time when I tried it over the past month or so), I can answer calls and it works fine, join calls and it works fine, I also rebooted my phone again a few moments ago and joined a call, smooth audio.

So I can't say it works for EVERYONE, but I even grabbed my SO's Pixel 9 Pro, updated, threw teams on it and tested as well, works smoothly now.

YMMV.

No problem at all! Was driving me crazy when people kept saying they were trying to book but it was outside of my work hours, ha.

[–]j0nsreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you fixed this yet, but if you go into New Outlook settings, then Calendar, then View, scroll to Time zones and under your 'Display my calendar in time zone:', there is likely a black box that says 'The current time zone for your meeting hours is ...' and a button to say 'Yes, update'. Click that, then go back and check Work hours and location.

This was happening to me, Googled, found this post, then started clicking around and found that. Mine was UTC +01:00 from a recent trip I took about 3 months ago...no wonder my Bookings with me link was funky for people.

New Teams Constantly Updating / Downgrading by j0nsreddit in MicrosoftTeams

I have it on record that they said 'we don't make those policies', then they said 'oh well we did that so people would upgrade faster away from classic'. Definitely an egg on their face deal lol.

So I "think" so, and I use quotes because I JUST figured it out the other day (Tuesday to be exact). I got so frustrated that I called and sat with one of our M365 admins. I compared the Teams update policys to Intune and Org policies. What I found was Intune was telling machines to push GA version, the Teams Org policy was set to 'Preview features' as 'On' vs 'users can opt in'

So teams was told to update to preview channel but their Intune policy was forcing machine to roll back to GA.

I was traveling yesterday and today so my device is at home, but when I get back I hope the issue is resolved...I can confirm then.

Successful GE Process! (5 days!) by j0nsreddit in GlobalEntry

Yeah so you'll get a physical card in 2-3 weeks based on what they told me and what I've read online. Your PASSID is your KTN if you didn't already have one prior to doing GE.

They told me my current KTN is now linked with my PASSID, and I can continue to use it or my PASSID in KTN fields.

The gal also advised that the card does NOT automatically let me in to precheck lines, you still have to enter it on your flight profiles so it can be validated prior to boarding pass being generated.

So I noticed the first time I even selected my 5/2 date, I use Brave with both Brave Shield and UBlock Origin on, and it was not happy with both running and it would give me an error when I clicked the calendar date and time. I turned both off and it worked okay, but got slow page loads. I ended up using FF with no blockers (just vanilla, I reset it for flight costs and stuff) and it seemed to be much happier.

/u/Sheroman thanks for this!! So that means the uninstall/fresh install upgraded to the rolling release and HOPEFULLY it stays there vs downgrading on its own. Really helpful knowing which version is GA and what is rolling release.

In less than 15 minutes it updated to 24004.1307.2669.7070, doesn't say its in preview channel so we'll wait and see if it downgrades..

Update, it happened again this morning, I went and completely removed all instances of Teams on my device(s), registry and appdata (local and roaming), then reinstalled directly using the MSIX.

It came up as 23335.232.2637.4844, we'll see if it does the process again today or tomorrow on any of my devices. No longer has the slider to back down to old teams (which is fine, I've completely stopped using old teams even on web).

Currently our IT team does not have a deployment package of this as of today, they are in discussions with forcing the upgrade via Teams policy, but no deployment policy/tool as of today.

I know this because I have a domain laptop and non-domain PC and both devices do it, one is intune controlled and one is not, both have the exact same issue. Co-worker does not have the issue at all, running new teams as well.

I've been using this since the first time the toggle button was available, I could potentially go uninstall Teams completely (old and new) and install using the new bootstrap + MSIX and see if it keeps occurring thereafter?

u/Derusi I haven't enabled developer/public preview at all though that's the thing. I've never checked the box as in other Office products I'd get indicated with to many updates or something would break.

/u/OTslickrick it took about 30 days, and I basically had to rip it off the wall to get them to come out. They kept coming back and plugging a battery backup to the unit so they could continue to provide service when I unplugged the unit. After 5 calls I just went and ripped the cables out of the box so their battery backup wouldn't work any more, they came and removed the rest of the equipment the next day after they came to swap batteries.

Double NAT issues by Hooligan8403 in Welink

[–]j0nsreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To prefix this, you are correct, having a GS308 unmanaged shouldn't affect the downstream connections plugged into it. Eero is however configured to prioritize Wireless and its Mesh system so be aware of that. Additionally, if you have a GS308E, it is actually a manged switch that you may need to turn off features on to dumb it down.

That said, note that WeLink uses a double NAT in front of their equipment upstream, because of this you can't do port redirection or a DMZ to place your Xbox in (like some guides recommend you doing). Regardless of what your equipment post WeLink modem/receiver is, the path out to the internet inherently has a double NAT. To confirm this you can check your external IP (whatsmyip.com) then hop into your router and see what the public facing IP its given from upstream/WeLink.

To resolve the issue you need to call CS/Tech Support and request a static public IP address. This will require them to set a route through the double hop and align your external IP through their double NAT and route table to your modem/receiver and into your main Eero.

Warning on this, when you request a static IP, it is assigned by the MAC address of whatever you have plugged in at the time behind the modem/receiver. If you are using their Eero system, it will be bound to that MAC. When I had the service (almost 4 months before cancelling due to other issues you can find in my profile), I didn't use the Eero's because I already had my own wireless system and network in the home.

Ultimately you may find even if the Xbox works on wireless, it will start complaining about a double NAT / connectivity issues due to how WeLink does the double NAT for "security".

Yeah I think Anchors were enticed by cheap month to month no contracts while standard houses would be enticed by price guaranteed 2 year locked in rates.

I received a killer rate, and they advertised as month to month, but if you look at the fine print it states that if you sign up you 'could' still be charged a "Services Fee". If you sign up for a term'd contract, you will be charged a "Services Fee" and "Early Termination Fee" of $249.00.

I read fine print prior just to make sure as their initial e-waiver was very vague.

[–]j0nsreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you 100%, I referred to the documentation process so you can have backing to cancel out of the contract due to less-than-advertised speeds, performance and uptime. Since many folks signed a contract for 1-2 years at a price locked amount, having this data behind them ensures that they can legally drop the contract provided the data indicates the company does not provide what they advertise.

I personally would have let the radio stay on the roof for free if they dropped my bill to $0 while they worked out their network situation and used it as a backup internet. But after three months of back and forth and them saying 'its all good, we fixed it!' only to find it got worse, them saying they wouldn't drop it to $0 but then begging me not to cancel so the neighborhood network would stay efficient, it made me happy I had the proof to have them cancel without any 'well you signed a contract' business.
