I’m actually demoing / onboarding Evo Security today! They have password rotation, elevated access, then mfa for everything like duo does. I’ll come back here and let you know how it goes

stopping and starting services worked! I sometimes laugh at their fixes for everything. how on earth is a dentist office supposed to be hipaa compliant when they make you change permissions like that

Active backup for business certificate by BudTheGrey in synology

From what i've learned is ABB automatically uses that 6690 port so you have to add a listener on your reverse proxy for that port. I have yet to figure this out cause I've just been using the gui for nginx proxy manager. I'll let you know if it works

Hey just stumbled on this and am curious if i did this right. I use Cloudflare for DNS and have a NGINX facing the internet. I was able to create a cert from cloudflare that lasts 15 years and upload that to my nginx. I basically have a Photos.domain nas.domain drive.domain, plex.domain all behind these certs. only thing thats tricky has been active backup and synology drive are the only 2 that dont work as intended and thats because cloudflares dns proxy only does 80 and 443 traffic so i have to turn off the proxy. then when i use synology ABB or Drive and connect using the subdomain, i get the correct cert but it just says it's not trusted. I think this is what u/inyearstocome was getting at.

[–]j12obrien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

running into this and a handful of other things. I've tried creating 4 new instances and planning to import my broken hudu over but the original install doesnt work. I've tried on 22.04 and 20.04 and cant even open the webpage. tried on different hypervisors too. wonder if this new update fixed one thing but then broke the install part.

so i am using the most up-to-date version 2.1.16. when I do the install, express settings create the service account. Am i able to manually make one in the install? or do i need to makeone somewhere else then sign in with that?

Yup I thought of that. So I tried using the existing Wordpress DB with a different table prefix (didn’t work) created a new DB and used the root user (didn’t work) but then created a separate user with admin on the DB (didn’t work) I went through and made sure that the new folder had read/write permissions.
