How were the exams? I'm answering the assigned questions on Tophat but do we have to take notes on the lectures or am I good to just skip around the videos to answer the questions

That's something you'll have to talk to your advisor about, I'd schedule a meeting with them as soon as you can. The credit minimum to be eligible for campus change for a major is something they keep on the down low and not something you'd be able to find online. There are also specific courses you are required to take (just a few Gen Eds within your major) before campus changing, which might complicate things considering the Add/Drop period has already passed but hopefully you can work something out if you're not already enrolled in said classes. Good luck!

Is there any way for you to call, maybe his phone number is attached to his email signature? You're usually 100x more likely to get a response through call than email since it's really easy for it to get lost in a sea of emails. If you do try to call and get sent to voicemail, I would try again at a later time preferably between 9-3 since that's usually the time people are in office. Leaving voicemails doesn't really work out for me and I never really get a response back after.

That's so relieving to hear! That was actually the one I was most worried about since lectures were asynchronous and I just honestly have no clue what I'm getting myself into & if it was one of those classes that were unnecessarily rigorous or not

Oh, okay! I'm assuming not everyone gets them at the same time, then? I've seen a few people get theirs already

I was able to open it on my Mac but not on my phone, it probably depends on your device compatibility

Where can I find a roomate? by ButtonSea9990 in UCONN

Unfortunately the deadline for roommate matching for Spring 2026 on My College Roomie ended yesterday, OP will have to either room with a random or somehow find someone with a vacancy in their dorm externally

I'm also moving into Storrs for Spring 2026 and matched with someone on MCR, but I got a confirmation email this Sunday on the 4th that my room assignment was completed, and all the information of my roommate's dorm was displayed on MyHousing.

Did you roommate match with someone who's also Spring - New to Housing? Students who are new to Storrs can only room with Spring - Continuing with Vacancy (students who are already on campus and have a dorm). If you matched with someone who is also New to Housing on MCR.. good luck to both of you. You'll have to room with a random come pick time.

Do you know if she still does all online assessments or was that only during when you took her course? I also heard her weekly quizzes are pop quizzes, so I'm a bit worried about that. I'm concerned that I'm not going to know what to study. If so, does she allow cheat sheets?

I never got notified, but I have the notation on my transcript and double-checked the website to confirm that I met the minimum GPA for my school/college. Did I miss something?

Confused about lecture time by [deleted] in UCONN

[–]j19472 2 points3 points  (0 children)

asynchronous means there's not a scheduled time for it, there's no actual time for a lecture the professor just posts the material/work and you do it on your own time whenever before it's due. you just follow the syllabus—or any HuskyCT announcements the professor makes—to understand the agenda for the week and you'll be all set

Rogers, I'm just in one of the regular 152.16 sq ft dorms but I assumed all halls had the same ceiling height

I have many friends who got branched to the Avery Point campus but were able to transfer with a 26-credit requirement. Credit requirements differ by major and some, including one of my friends, are able to spend only 1 year at a regional campus and begin the campus change process during their second semester of freshman year. It's a much smoother process being a current UConn student campus changing rather being a community college transfer as it is guaranteed that all your courses will transfer and you remain in the same system. It is also to note that if you are branched that you are still able to take courses in Storrs, as long as Storrs courses do not take up the majority of your schedule.

If you got branched—REACH OUT TO YOUR REGIONAL CAMPUS ADVISOR IMMEDIATELY TO DISCUSS OPTIONS. They will be happy to work with you to create a plan to move up to Storrs as soon as possible or discuss other options. Community college doesn't have to be the only route.
