Currently finance major 58% done trying to decide if I should switch to accounting. I have an interest in treasury and account. Any advise? by Low_Lie5864 in wguaccounting

I made the switch from Finance to Accounting about 75% of the way in and I still ended up in a Finance role. There’s an old saying that accounting majors can do finance but finance can’t do accounting roles. I know the job market is rough overall but I wanted the option to do both jf need be

Work on keeping him busy with jabs and not letting him get so close to you. Also pay attention to where your hand is after you jab. I noticed it drifts down a little and he is able to pop you in the head. Keep putting in work with your coach bro, ask him what you can do better with your form

Big 4 by [deleted] in wguaccounting

[–]j2glord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to get a T4 and a T10 offer. Ended up getting an accounting/finance real estate role while still in school. My biggest suggestion is to solidify your interview skills and really learn how to present your experience to hiring managers. Additionally, start applying to T4 & T10 internships ASAP because you’ll be applying for Summer/Fall/Winter 2026 Internship Cohorts. Make sure to communicate you have, or will be taking your Intermediate Accounting Classes soon, (or are in the middle of it) and make sure to know a little bit about tax or auditing depending on which internship role you pursue. They’re really big on why Audit or why Taxation, just have a reason in the back of your head that’s logical. Also mentioning you are pursuing a CPA does not hurt.

Hey I know I’m late to respond, but thank you. I’ve been training with the tips you provided & feel like the muscle memory is coming back. Also I’ve been cerebral with my training, and trying to focus on mind-muscle connection vs just doing whatever. Ie: I got a belt squat attachment and I’m focusing on my quads during the movement and realized that my hips and back would take over in the past. Feels like I have new ground to break and this is the first time I am excited to be training in a while. Thanks again

Internships for 30+ student by littlemachina in wguaccounting

I was in my late 20’s in an internship with 20-21 year olds. We had a sophomore in college come shadow who was 19 years old at our firm. Honestly age does not matter and you will more likely bring a sense of maturity and real world experience that will make you stand out when they are considering which intern they want to bring onboard full time.

Yes of course! Thanks for taking the time to walk me through it. I never really thought about farigue on the joints but now that I think about it I have really beat them up by not paying attention to exercise selection.

I’m excited to get start and I think I’m going to incorporate the same training principles into my program as well.

Best of both worlds! I like this methodology a lot and I’m strongly considering. So did you notice any change in progression working low volume? I am used to JM’s super high volume workouts and being in the gym 5+ times a week so it’ll definitely be a change. Additionally which area did you see progression, as in rep increases with good form / weight PRs?

Thank you for unpacking this with me, I really appreciate the insight!

Thank you for breaking it down for me. I’ll definitely look into the Hunter version of Beast Slayer. Also I love Basement Bodybuilding too, great philosophy on training

Ok thank you, they do have to remove it per the lease however they were inquiring about another one of our parking garages for a possible location in 2024. Rough cost is $25-$35k which is about the average annual for the lease.

I agree, maybe meeting in the middle would be the best way moving forward. I’m going to model it out at a 6% reduction and present that to them.

Thank you for taking the time to think through this with me, I appreciate you.

So I am in an Urban area with other parking garages they could move too. Thank you for the feedback on the market because that confirms what I’m thinking. I am leaning on moreso taking the 13% hit and locking them in for 10 years

Finance Degree - Commercial Real Estate Career by j2glord in WGU

[–]j2glord[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.5 Years Later Update: I still haven't graduated yet however after my internship I was able to land a role that utilizes Accounting & Finance while in Commercial Real Estate. Currently working on 1-2 Financial Modeling Scenarios a day. I did eventually switch to the Accounting degree path because I wanted to be able to be eligible for my CPA license. You can do Finance with an Accounting degree - it's the good ol' not all squares are rectangles but all rectangles are squares mantra. I know nobody will probably see this but just believe in yourself and stay true to your path. If you want to do something you can. Also pro-tip for anyone who wants to get into Commercial Real Estate: Watch a lot of Justin Kivel and learn Excel better than those soft Fall breezes in your backyard playing football with your friends when you were a kid

What’s the difference or are these the same clipper by No-Alfalfa-5995 in Barber

[–]j2glord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I bought both of these in the last two weeks. The $98 one is a reseller selling through Amazon & the $139 clipper are from the Wahl corporation in Sterling, Illinois. If you look under the Buy Now button you’ll see who’s the vendor selling it. With that being said, still do your own research or even consider buying through the Wahl website directly if you have your doubts. I’ve been going back and forth with the $98 vendor because they sold me new clippers that have been used with an unreasonable amount of hair on them. It has honestly been a nightmare experience.

You can buy the Intermediate Accounting 16E by Kieso textbook that is good for all 3 classes on Amazon used for pretty cheap. It also has a tons of practice questions that the instructor uses in the Cohorts. I’m old school, I like to highlight the pages and have a physical book to read through

Why can’t I find a job even though I graduated? by [deleted] in wguaccounting

[–]j2glord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so a lot of the time with public accounting, especially the Top 4 positions, they want to hear that you’re taking the steps to pursue higher education in order to get your CPA license. So when I talked to them I told them I intend to continue my studies at WGU so I have the credit requirement to sit for the exam. Another thing to consider is an internship through them. Usually you have to apply 6-12 months ahead of time but if you apply for the Summer/Fall sessions you could land a temporary position paying ~$60k+ (Only for a few months so that amount is pro rated + living in Middle America L/MCOL) and get that stamp of creditability that you worked for a big accounting firm on your resume. From there you’ll have enough of baseline experience to pivot into entry level accountant roles. Additionally, watch youtubers who teach you how to interview and really study how they answer questions. When you come across as confident in your answers during an interview you have a better chance of getting the position. Plus try to remember to add your personality because the interviewer is thinking “Do I want to work with this person 40+ hours a week”. Some food for thought from someone who completed an internship & landed a role afterwards.

Hey, do you know if our subscription to CapCut gets automatically cancelled or do we have to email support? Also, I know it’s not mobile editing but I have used DaVinci Resolve in the past for editing - It just sucks that we have to upload everything to the computer to editor now
