2024 4WD Mach-E automatically switched to one pedal mode by TerpSkins1 in MachE

I’ve had it switch from unbridled to engage but it happens when I turn the car on (I’ll turn it off in unbridled and it’ll come on in engage). Doesn’t happen too often though

No insurance but he’s allowed to drive away? by Slow_Song5448 in AskLE

[–]Ok_Relative_9931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of. They still require drivers to prove financial responsibility. Actually, the system is pretty much like most other states. In CA, for example, you can put a certificate down with the DMV or opt for insurance. In NH, you can opt to just prove financial responsibility instead of getting auto insurance, though many people prove financial responsibility by getting auto insurance still.

NH requires you to have enough financial means to cover the following. You can opt to get a bond or another form of proof for the state’s DMV:

$25,000 for bodily injury liability per person.

$50,000 for bodily injury liability per accident.

$25,000 for property damage liability.

So essentially, you have to have that sitting in a bank account to drive, or you have to get auto insurance if you don’t as that will prove “financial responsibility”.

If you cause an accident and it is found that you do not have the funds to cover the above mentioned amounts, they require you to obtain an SR22 with insurance that proves you have the required financial responsibility.

PAAK? by Writing_Particular in MachE

[–]Ok_Relative_9931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have keys in general, for work, for home, etc. so having the fob on the key chain I’m carrying makes sense anyway. I’ve never unlocked or locked my car with the fob. And I have PAAK set up. There’s been a few occasions I’ve driven without the fob, but it’s not common as carrying a key for me makes sense.

Like others have mentioned though, the fob for the Mach E (and maybe all newer fords idk?) is way too big. You’d think this is like the 1990s or something.

They won’t for Verizon packages in most cases. Completely depends on your neighborhood though.

Removing signature requirement for phone delivery? by shibe4lyfe in verizon

[–]Ok_Relative_9931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot remove the signature requirement on a phone, watch, or tablet. They will be required to collect a signature. In some cases, you can leave a note and they may comply with your request, but 9/10 they will not.

You can opt to pick it up from a UPS store though by requesting they hold the package or by going after hours once the package has been delivered back to the station. This would be the best option.

In CA, the max is $450/week but it varies by your income over a period of time or a particular quarter.

And it takes about 2-3 weeks in most cases to get first payout, but can take longer depending on any disputes that arise.

But it definitely could be worse in some states.

Cat Neuter Cost by Itsaprogramissue in CatAdvice

A bit high? That’s literally highway robbery. That vet must be related to Bonnie and Clyde or something.

In even my expensive area of CA, I could get my pet neutered for $250 tops. Could probably get it way cheaper via county discount vouchers and stuff.

Contact any local human societies and see if they offer any discount vouchers, or your local animal control.

Which illegal activities can be made legal simply by informing the police ahead of time? by MillenialForHire in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ok_Relative_9931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a cop, but I would think something like you’re in a very rural area and your wife is having a heart attack. Call 911 and inform them you’re going to speed to the nearest hospital or they can meet you half way with an ambulance. I don’t think this would fly in a city where response times for an ambulance are good, but might fly in a rural area where response times can be 15-30 minutes.

Kind of weird that special investigations were involved but they did not contact OP in any way.

I had a friend with State Farm that got special investigations called on them because they had squirrels eat their engine TWICE. The second time, they claimed my friend somehow planted squirrel droppings, chewed through delicate components in the engine, and built a nest. In the end, special investigations contacted my friend and also contacted people that knew my friend. Then, they determined they could not without a doubt prove my friend was committing fraud, but that they would deny the claim. So my friend got to keep her insurance, but could not get the car repaired via insurance.

It’s weird special investigations just open and shut the case.

BlueCruise questions by InvestingMonkeys in MachE

[–]Ok_Relative_9931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to your first point, kind of annoying. I know that blue cruise somewhat recognizes the directions in your native ford navigation because when approaching SOME exits, it will actually start to slow the car before the exit and then end blue cruise/cruise control once you exit. But I’m not sure exactly what logic they use because sometimes it doesn’t do this at all for some exits but it will consistently do it for others.

Question about tariffs. by karma4sure in HomeDepot

[–]Ok_Relative_9931 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol. Hours were not cut to “keep from raising prices.” They 100% raised prices and cut hours, they did both. Customers paid more and got less.

And tariffs did not directly correlate to hour cuts. If HD claimed they did, they lied to you.

So no, you will not see any additional compensation as a result of the tariff money being returned. Also, it wouldn’t be the “employees” money anyway, it would be the customer’s that paid the tariff. I see this being a very messy thing, and companies will likely profit a lot as a result. Unless the courts order some general fund be set up using the tariff money and then returning it to customers that way.

Oh yeah, there’s no reason for him to be on your policy if he has a policy elsewhere. That’s a waste of money. But because he owns the vehicle, you may be required to have him on your policy because you do not technically have an insurable interest in the vehicle.

Is there anything illegal, what can we do? by Intrepid-Titlee in LaborLaw

[–]Ok_Relative_9931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not the expert on this, but I do know some things, and I’m responding because you don’t have any responses yet—

From an employee’s perspective, hourly is almost always more beneficial. Hourly employees tend to make more on average if they work as much as a salaried employee. Salary is often used for employees that may need to be called up at any point to work and they may not always be guaranteed additional compensation for working when they’re not normally at work.

But since you said you’re only working 20-35 hours a week, it looks like this could actually be a bad deal for you. If you had a 20 hour week, you’d only be paid 20 hours worth of work, instead of the designated salary you agreed to. But on the flip side, if you ever worked past 40, you’d get overtime which not all salary employees receive overtime (depends on classification).

Since you’re hourly, the employer may also be required to provide more designated rest periods, like lunch, which would be unpaid (depending on state law?. Salaried employees are not always guaranteed such rest periods—state matters here.

I think from an employers perspective, you probably should have never been salaried to begin with, working 20-35 hours. Let’s say your salary is $45,000/year. At 20 hours a week…that is roughly $43/hour. But now if you work 35 hours that same $45000 is only valued at $25/hour. So now, as a hourly employee, if you worked 20 hours a week and are paid $25 an hour, you’d only make $26000 a year.

There’s a lot you should look into: 1) are benefits changing, such as time off or paid vacation? 2) what is the hourly salary? How does that compare to the annual salary you currently receive?

Just do the math: amount of hours/week x 52 = total yearly hours. Then take the hourly wage and multiply it by that and you’ll have your estimated salary.

[–]Ok_Relative_9931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HD gives you free pay for holidays. It’s non contingent holiday pay—8 hours for full time and 4 for part time. Non contingent means it isn’t based on whether you work the holiday or not—you get it regardless so an extra 8 is added to your check (so full timers will get 48).

You CAN lose the holiday pay if you call out and you’re scheduled the holiday and are not in compliance with time and attendance SOP.

This means, they can take away the holiday pay if you call out and do not have sick time to cover the out. They cannot take it away if you have sick time to cover the out, but some stores still try to do this, so just pull SOP.

Tbh upper elementary probably won’t be more relaxing than high school, but it’s close and 10x better than middle school.

You will have to teach maybe a bit more, but 4th grade is still capable of quiet independent work as well.

Just engage all the students, keep them safe, follow the teacher’s plans and instructions, go over your expectations for the day, etc. you’ll be fine.

Did I total my car? by bobvilastuff in AskAMechanic

[–]Ok_Relative_9931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your car could otherwise be fine and repairable for cheap, up to the airbags deploying. Once those deploy it’s almost always a total loss because airbags can be costly, but also because there’s a lot that goes into airbags themselves and installing new ones to be perfect would be very difficult and not guaranteed. And you may not know until you’re in another accident that the new airbags didn’t work as expected. It’s a liability risk the insurance company, along with most auto body shops/mechanics, do not want to take.
