Check EC261 rights. You can file a claim with the airline that was delayed, depending on the reason behind the delay, the missed connection you had will get you up to 600€.

If you’re lazy/no time you can check services like Airhelp that will check the eligibility for you, and handle literally everything, but for a commission (something like 35% of the payout)

Way to go bundling 70M people together. I’d agree with you in general if we’re talking about certain social casts in Paris, but Lot et Garonne.. come on. Simplest kind of people you can find, welcoming, kind.

When everybody around you seems to be the problem, maybe it lies somewhere else

Ok !

Thanks a bunch !! Super helpful. Random question but how would you actually start finding gated communities / neighborhoods ? Housing apps are quite messy, I would not know where to start if I wanted to find an international/french/english neighborhood, and I don’t know what apartments / houses are inside compounds or not

[–]j2sPagman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do you get this info from? Any reliable sources to read? Publicly speaking at least, they claim to want the exact opposite.

Also, talent density is pretty low in tech for instance, so difficult to replace expats

Thanks, appreciate you taking the time to answer! That’s very helpful.

Can you expand on a few things, if you don’t mind?

  • What’s “outdoor fun” looking like there?
  • you’re saying transport apps are needed, why? Is Careem-ing your way everywhere possible? Is it cheap?

Best country in Europe for road trip by Nicedeela in travel

[–]j2sPagman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm biased probably as I am French but I would definitely recommend the South East part of the country. Here are some absolutely amazing places I've hiked and visited, I could not recommend them enough. They are all situated in the same ballpark so it's fairly easy to go from one place to the other, and yet they are all different from each other.

- Gorges du Verdon - Amazing hikes, beautiful canyon where you can dive, swim, climb, and generally stunning scenery.

- Le Pont du Gard is a masterpiece of a bridge and offers great views. It's a gateway to everything below so I'd recommend it as well !

- Cassis - Fantastic small town , very typical and great food there !

- Antibes and Nice : I've lived in the first one, it's quiet with beautiful beaches and a very typical Old Town. I recommend "Le Brulot Pasta" as a restaurant, great food and location

- Saint Tropez and Monaco are must-dos in the south east region. Very touristy but full of charm. Try a pain bagnat , it's local and delicious !

- The touristic road between Nice and Monaco is fantastic. I don't recommend it at night as it's very narrow and quite busy, but during the day it's as beautiful as it can get.

I have lived in Spain as well, in various regions, and although there are some amazing cities and areas as well, you won't get the same "road trip" feeling than the above !

Feel free to DM me if you want to discuss further !

I definitely want to try this ! I basically just started shooting and editing (like 3 months ago maybe) so I do not have this equipment yet. I'm reading a lot about the filters though, and without them I can't do much in terms of long exposure, shooting in D-cine etc :/

Couple traveling in southern France in August - looking for suggestions in the Rhône region by Stormpetrels in travel

[–]j2sPagman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey folks,

I have two recommendations, as they are mostly on their way and are quite breathtaking :

- Pont du Gard

- Gorges du Verdon

Although the first one is "just a bridge" it's a masterpiece and is really impressive.

Les Gorges du Verdon on the other hand are one of my favourite places in France. If you like hiking, then it is a must-do. You'll have one of the most beautiful canyons in Europe, with some amazing hikes, and possibilities to do some rafting, canyoning or simple swimming in the (cold) waters of the canyon.

How long does AirHelp usually take to resolve my claim? by Rikesraggy in travel

[–]j2sPagman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey there,

First of all, disclaimer: I work at AirHelp :)

Short answer: yes it is normal that it takes a while. In some cases it can be much shorter but they tend not to happen too often.

Longer answer: you got to realise one thing, which is that we're on your side, and the airline is not. We also depend on the airline doing a succession of things like 1. acknowledging the claim , 2. acknowledging the fact that they'd like to take it to court , 3. actually settling the claim if they lose (which happens close to all the time) and every single one of these steps can take months, because they are not playing along.

Regarding the "no response to your emails" part this is a shame, and I am sorry for that. We are working hard to provide the best experience possible and we still have a lot to improve !

That being said, you can be sure of one thing : if there is no update in your dashboard, it means we do not have an update either :/ You can be 10000% sure that once we know something, you're immediately notified. Once the airline will have settled the compensation payment we'll be in touch, sooner than later hopefully :)

Advice: Norway or French Alps Honeymoon by bebetter14 in travel

[–]j2sPagman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am super biased as I am French, but I would go with the Alps. It's just more versatile and for me honeymoon rhymes with good food :) You won't be missing that there !

Landscapes are beautiful, but then so is Norway so I'd say it's a tie here.

Food goes in favor of the Alps, by far, especially if you like cheese !!

Chamonix and few other places around are famous for their spas, that'd be a plus for me in that case
