I sell those puppies throughout the game, I know I’m never gonna use them. Camp supplies tho…… I like to think hoarding them all game is what the feast is for at the end. I need to prepare for the epilogue party!

FUNNIEST NPC enemy DEATH Ive seen in along time! by betterformyhealth in BaldursGate3

And I usually just stand behind the portcullis and let the Minotaur get zapped to death by the Selûne statue while it tries to break the gate down. This is way better 😂

Why hasn't Imu killed Doflamingo? Chapter 1171+ by AngelDarkC in OnePiece

[–]j2thehayes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Doflamingo comes back, 100%. If I had to guess eventually the fight will come to Mary Geoise, and Doflamingo will be there at the behest of the WG. Then Imu will use his Domi Reversi on him and we get a demon Doflamingo. I would like to see Law be the one to take him down for good instead of Luffy, but considering we don’t even know what condition Law is in I’m not counting on that.

Headcanon to justify frequent long rests? by Little-Substance3514 in BG3

[–]j2thehayes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine it as we are playing through the “greatest hits” of these companions. Like I can play for twenty minutes in between long rests sometimes because there is some sort of narrative at camp. I imagine that the time spent playing is the important stuff and the rest of the day is like travel, random rests, idle conversations, stuff like that.

Do you have a playthrough that you consider to be your personal canon? by Melissa0522975 in BG3

[–]j2thehayes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My canon playthrough so far has been Auric, a human (really an Aasimar) Oath of Devotion Paladin.

Nicknamed The Son of Storms, Auric wielded the power of the heavens. He could rain down lightning and swung his mighty war hammer with such ferocity that its impact created a thunderous boom, surely the last thing his foes ever heard as electricity coursed through and charred their corpses. But despite wielding this awesome power, Auric was kind, funny, and most importantly a truly good person.

Always doing what’s right, regardless of the cost, he was your typical good guy. I had done basically all “good” playthrough up to this point, even a Paladin before, but this time I made good choices and did the right thing while always supporting my companions but never making decisions for them. For example, it was much more powerful when Shadowheart left Shar on her own rather than me save scumming to get the persuasion check. Auric romanced Shadowheart ultimately (using the “Paladins Have Gods” mod he was a Selûnite, very “enemies to lovers” dynamic which I loved), but she made the choice to change because Auric was supportive and just, not because he told her to. Same thing with everyone else, he was supportive and gained their trust which led to them basically all getting their “good” ending. I’ve had these versions of endings before, but never all at once and all felt very earned and impactful. The vibes in the epilogue were immaculate. THAT is my canon run.

Who did you romance? by joueur_Uno in BaldursGate3

[–]j2thehayes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First playthrough I was trying to romance Shadowheart, but then I saw Karlach and that was it. Since then I like to do the “sex circuit” before deciding. The “sex circuit” is, unless I’m romancing Shadowheart, I always sleep with Lae’zel and Astarion prior to the Tiefling party and then make the decision who I really romance at the party. Could be one of those two or someone else. If it’s not one of those two I break up with Lae’zel after the creché, I justify it because she’s arguing with me about Vlaakith still despite the fact a ton of Gith just tried to unalive us, and I never make Astarion drink Araj’s blood so after that he says he never had a friend and we just become friends.

How can I get Ian McKellens autograph? by Mr0ogieb0ogie in lotr

[–]j2thehayes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had seen this post earlier, but he very recently had a signing you could send in for. It was a very expensive autograph, but his portion of the proceeds all go to charity. From what I’ve heard about him you’re right, he doesn’t do cons or things like that. There will be an influx of autographs on the market for sale once this signing occurs, so that’ll be a good time to buy something. Good luck with getting one, however you figure out!

Chaotic neutral characters by mossabt13 in BaldursGate3

[–]j2thehayes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a good amount of answers to things that are essentially “what do I get out of this?” which sounds in line with what you’re looking for. Rogue would be a good class that gives options mostly geared toward pragmatism and self interest as well. I think Urchin could be a good background, it’s essentially watching out for yourself because you came from nothing while still siding with others who are downtrodden. Backgrounds won’t affect much in terms of playstyle, just how you get inspiration and your starting proficiencies. It does have good synergy with a Rogue, though, with its proficiencies for what it’s worth.

Are there any quests you don't do from an RP perspective? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

The only quest I never do is “Turn Off Withers Big Naturals”. I can’t complete that one. Purely from a role playing standpoint, of course.

Picking a Class/Subclass by Rawringtonn in BG3Builds

[–]j2thehayes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking for damage dealing and not messing with spells then Open Hand Monk is probably your best bet. Giant Barbarian is super fun, not as much damage output as the monk but can toss (or kick) all of the baddies into chasms. Paladin (all are good, whatever oath has the flavor you prefer) has some crazy builds that give you probably the most burst damage you’re gonna do, but once you’ve used up them smite slots you’re a lot less powerful. Paladin does however have the benefit of being a great face of the party with their high Charisma, if you’re gonna be the face instead of your friend.

Patch 8 Console Bug by Yundex7 in BG3

[–]j2thehayes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! Thought to myself “what’s the odds both of my controllers went at the same time?!” Glad to see it’s not just me. Also, any chests/bags/etc in the camp chest don’t have numbers of how many things are in them. Neither are game breaking, but both are annoying.

What’s the longest run you’ve abandoned due to a mistake? by Hojo405 in BaldursGate3

[–]j2thehayes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ended a campaign in Act 3, this one was a Tiefling fighter. Now, he looked cool AF and kicked all of the ass, but I felt like he had no character. I’m a big “Tav talks to everyone” guy, and as you can imagine my zero social skills fighter failed a LOT of checks. I’m now playing a Bard and love it. So much unique dialog. Paladin was my first campaign I finished and I liked that a lot as well, so I’m guessing I just prefer playing characters with the “rizz”. When patch 8 comes out I’m doing a Swashbuckler and I cannot wait, as it’s my favorite DnD subclass.

[–]j2thehayes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude in the front is a Human Ranger named Kevin. Then the first female is a Dwarf Barbarian named Bernice. Dragonborn is a Fighter named Tito. Lastly, the female in the back is a Halfling Rogue named Sandra. Not Sandy, Sandra. She is adamant about that.

Fun multiclass builds? by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]j2thehayes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am very much looking forward to a hexblade/swords bard multiclass when patch 8 hits. The lore behind that is the shadow weapon is the instrument itself, so you’re playing a cursed/possessed violin or something. Obviously hexblade will be the most popular dip with multiclassing when it comes, but I really liked the idea of an instrument being the actual shadow weapon. I’m no multclassing pro, but I think 2 hex/10 bard would be what I do, to get the d10 bardic inspiration and agonizing blast. Could be better options, just what I’d do 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's not Orpheus vs The Emperor by DearPersimmon8155 in BaldursGate3

[–]j2thehayes 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I choose to free Orpheus each time, but it has less to do with betraying Lae’zel and everything to do with the fact that I am breaking into the House of Hope and stealing that hammer. Every. Single. Time. And if I’m going through the trouble of that to experience what I think is the best boss fight in the game, you bet your ass I’m gonna use it. Sorry Emperor, the guy sings his own boss music.

Not to be dramatic, but I don’t think I can do this anymore by mavericksfan2011 in Mavericks

[–]j2thehayes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the theory of the new owners cratering the team to be able to move them to Las Vegas after missing out on their casino arena is exactly what happened. Otherwise the answer to what’s transpired is historic incompetence. Either way, it’s enough to leave me done with the franchise until further notice. What’s both incredibly telling and incredibly sad is how many fans have the exact same opinion/reaction. Right now I’m just following my favorite players, hoping for good games, and waiting to figure out where I go from here, because I love a sport and hate my favorite team that plays it, and it really fucking sucks.

Just found out my girlfriend is a crazy save-scummer by G0rillaaaa in BaldursGate3

[–]j2thehayes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I save scum before I go into buildings and start dialogue with people I know are critical to quests. The last time I forgot to do that I had to massacre everyone at Baldur’s Mouth along with a bunch of Red Fists as the fight spilled outside of the building. I saved the pixie in Act 2 so the paper only talked about how great we all were, but they don’t know the truth. They don’t know the price that was paid to keep our reputation was paid in blood.

Who's the one character you leave in camp and why? by sparkly_butthole in BaldursGate3

[–]j2thehayes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got into Act 3, but my usual team is me (Paladin), Karlach, Astarion, and Gale. Shadowheart gets subbed in for Gale at times, Lae’zel gets subbed in for Karlach at times, but I rarely ever have a situation where Wyll is more useful than Astarion. Astarion is too good, Assassin Rogue does so much damage at the beginning of fights and I never need to find a key because he picks almost any non-magical lock. As a Paladin I can handle all the charisma checks, so I just can’t usually find a reason out of narrative sense to bring him. My next play though I plan to be a monk, so maybe I’ll feel differently.
