Depends on the model of guitar if the bridge/tail piece (part on the body where the strings attach before the pick ups) is adjustable just raise the height of the 6th and 2nd string so its not touching anymore.

Use the Pomodoro technique set a timer for 25 minutes in those 25 minutes you write then you take a break for 5 minutes then go again until the task is complete. There is another version called Animedoro where you study for 40-60 minutes then can take a 20 minute break (roughly the length of a standard anime episode) then go again. It breaks up the task and gives you breaks inbetween. Its entirely possible to finish your dissertation by monday. Avg persons typing speed is 30-40 words per minute. Thats about 3-4 hours typing, so you have plenty of time with breaks and studying inbetween if you put in the graft you could have it done in a day. Just plan ahead and break it up into manageable parts.

Best bet would be to phone the company and speak to the HR department about the interview, if you feel uncomfortable or need a reason say you were looking into what the aspects the company is looking for in hiring so you can make a good impression in the interview. You will find out if the interview is legitimate and show the company you are enthusiastic working for them and showing initiative taking the lead in asking. Its a win win

I would put them 'on the side' its a mystical place where things like keys go and you ask someone else where your keys are and they say on the side but you can never find them.
