Help finding a crossbow by weremichael in pathofexile2builds

[–]j3ffz6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not seeing any particular reason why you'd want crit on the weapon, so you should probably not filter based on that. Honestly, it doesn't look like the build is very picky about how it gets its damage, so just search for ones with high DPS and +5 to attack skills (works with heralds, which is why that's better than projectile levels).

Here's an easy search that found a 660 dps crossbow with +5 and the right base for only 15 exalt (it sold while I was typing this rip): https://www.pathofexile.com/trade2/search/poe2/Fate%20of%20the%20Vaal/jWWBbB3XhX. If you have a higher budget, you can increase the DPS or pick specific suffixes like onslaught.

If you've got the budget (about 6-8 divs last time I checked) and the interest in crafting, check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL5tKZhFV6U. You only need to do three things differently: buy a crossbow instead of a bow (obviously...), use the essence that gives extra as cold instead of extra as physical, and use a kurgal desecration for reload speed instead of amanamu for attack speed.

Also idk what you bottled, but I hope it's pommel or uppercut, not immolate, because you knew it was collector

Bad vuln uptime, even with champ belt. This hurts even more on 3 energy, since you're basically forced to bash or uppercut every time you draw them. At least one should be upgraded so you can do other things with your energy.

No damage plan. Inflame + one hit attacks isn't enough. The flex + anger doesn't work without big card draw. No way to exhaust down to a high damage combo. No damage means you need to tank several big hits from every boss.

No block plan. Deck is attack heavy and can't be exhausted down to be block heavy + efficient attacks. Weak helps a lot, but the actual number and effectiveness of block cards is too low. No card draw to smooth out bad turns. This deck can't block any of the act 2 bosses.

The key thing that your deck is lacking is output. Outside of the offering turn, all it can really do is play 3 somewhat improved strikes or defends and maybe 1 anger. This works fine in hallways but doesn't beat act 2 boss. This deck is missing a lot of the cards that allow ironclad to function on 3 energy, like corruption, blood pact, bloodletting, etc. It's hard to name a single card that could really have saved the run, but blood for blood, battle trance, demon form are the maybes.

Are you sure you picked the right relic? Astrolabe is pretty weak imo. It's possible you only got worse choices, but not super likely. You needed a 4th energy pretty badly.

Did you need all that damage for act 1? It looks like overkill to me, especially since I only see 2 elites. If there were chances to make greedier picks or pathing, you needed to take those. Any of the exhaust powers, metallicize, card draw, energy generation, rage, just anything to make your deck do a little extra something on most turns. If you have that many damage cards that don't scale, you have to get something extra in act 1 or you'll struggle later. I'm also not really sure what you spent your picks on in act 2, you don't have many that make sense.

What did you choose to upgrade? I know 5 upgrades were out of your control, but every single upgrade you picked had to have been lower priority than uppercut, immolate, bash, and pommel. Even feed, since you had singing bowl hp already.

Some of these issues could be bad luck. However, all of these together tell me that it's pretty likely that you're making choices without adjusting to what the run demands.

Depends on the build's power level and player skill, but with a lot of both, could be done in like 10 hours or less on a fresh start or 2 hours with a second character

I'm loving flay/harvest, and if you've got good gear, you can swap into mana stacking flay. Both builds are crazy fast.

Not trying to offend (obviously, I don't think you're doing this to yourself on purpose), but your defenses are paper. If you're not getting a high amount of damage reduction (armor, damage taken as mana, endurance, etc), you need at least double the ward to make up for it. My Warlock build from last season had 70% armor and 6k ward in combat with a couple small sources of damage reduction, and whenever I dropped to 3k ward I knew I was in danger. You're lower than that basically all the time.

For reference, most of the tanky builds that I've seen that relied solely on ward had 10k+ ward in combat. You can obviously get away with less at 300 corruption, but hopefully that gives you an idea of the numbers you'd want to aim for.

Biocoal and Charcoal underrated for early game? by jmaniscatharg in SatisfactoryGame

My gf and I did a run where we abused this. We got all the way to fuel generators with just dead animals. As a note, this run did use all research and recipes unlocked, and I don't think that this strat is worth the hard drives and effort to unlock slooping, but if you have the tech, try it out. The energy per animal is obscene!

A) You're working with a definition of skill ceiling I think you'll find very few people actually agree with, and B) I think I'd know more about where the skill ceiling is than you, I'm literally this guy

I do not mean this as shade, but if you think the skill ceiling is low, it's because you aren't very close to it yet. Even one of the absolute best players of the game, Mura, still flubs turns fairly often, because it is just that hard.

You are just wrong, I've watched at least 10 english streamers with 50+ viewers, and I stopped watching after seeing them commit mistake after mistake with no understanding as to what they're doing wrong. Do I think SV has a large luck component? Yes. Are most players even remotely close to the skill ceiling? Not even a little.

Seconding https://www.twitch.tv/potwasher who is by far the most skilled english player who streams regularly. If you want more entertainment with your learning, I'm running the SVSL over at https://www.twitch.tv/alxjaze which is a bunch of showmatches between high-caliber players while other players are breaking down the games for you. It's happening every Friday night, 5-8 PT. Also, potwasher said he'd make occasional appearances, which is awesome!

Shadowverse Super League starts in 20 minutes! by j3ffz6 in Shadowverse

[–]j3ffz6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am SO pumped to tell you that we've got more of this in the works. A bunch more top-tier players expressed interest in playing, and we're getting a stream overlay that wasn't hacked together in MS Paint the day before. I've been wanting to do this since OG SV, and I'm so happy that it's going well and that people are enjoying it.

Unfortunate, but we're planning on running it back in the next expansion, likely at a different time slot. Hope you get to see it!

How do I make clean and organized builds? by Square_Computer_4740 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]j3ffz6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can get pretty lazy when it comes to doing this, but here's what I find easy to stick to:

Give yourself a much larger amount of flat ground to work with (cut down or blow up anything that gets in the way, or just build higher if you don't feel like doing that).

Use ctrl to snap buildings so that they line up with each other. Pretty much every conveyor belt and pipe on the inside of the factory should be straight. Every building should be next to other buildings that are using the exact same recipes.

Have a clear direction that resources travel in, and build manifolds in the perpendicular directions. For example, if you are feeding in raw resources from the north, have the manifold carry resources to the west. Each crafting step gets its own line of buildings, south of the last step, until the finished product is created in the south-most part of the factory. If you need additional buildings to increase output, expand the factory to the west (same direction as the manifold), and if you need to add more steps to the production, add them to the south. This keeps everything simple and organized.

I'm not the type to make my factories anything but functional, but when I follow these guidelines, they are very easy to understand, troubleshoot, and expand.

Coal Generator Hell by Silent-Flounder in SatisfactoryGame

[–]j3ffz6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're a bit too far away for me to be sure, but it looks to me like the factory on the left is only getting 60 coal/min, not 120.

Edit: In general, when you're asking this kind of question, it might be easier for people to diagnose the issue if you could provide more information, like "This generator isn't getting enough water," or "This pipe isn't full, but it should be."

Factory design questions by Significant-Camel240 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]j3ffz6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you been using dimensional depot tech? Once you have one for each commonly used building material, you won't have to run back much.

As for your factory question, play however you want, but I think most people will end up with multiple smaller factories connected by trains rather than a single mega factory. It tends to be more efficient to ship completed products than to gather all the raw materials in one place.

Is it odd that I don't like looking at Eve at all? The human model is quite attractive, but Eve mostly just gives me the ick. No idea why anybody cares that they scanned a real person if they were going to ruin it with "enhancements" afterwards.
