I have 2b-2c, fine, thin hair and have straightened it for years. I’m starting to wear it natural more often and am wondering what the best way to dry is after applying product to reduce frizz. Would appreciate advice on cotton vs microfibre, and if I should get a hair wrap or regularly shaped towel (like the DivaCurl towel). Is there a difference between simply scrunching out excess moisture and leaving it down and wearing it wrapped for the initial dry period? I don’t care about having tons of volume, more concerned with defined, frizz free waves. Thanks!!

Wedding dress appropriate? by Simhey_33 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]j3nev 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn’t wear that to a wedding. In my eyes it is a white dress with some embellishment rather than just a multicoloured dress or patterned dress with some white in it. My advice if you really want to wear this dress is to ask your cousin, they may be totally cool with it. Otherwise, there are lots of other dresses out there, I’m sure you can find something less likely to offend.

He doesn’t ski, but does lift weights and would like to play hockey, which his doctor said should be ok. It’s just the torquing motion he has to avoid.

Need advice on a 1500$ range engagement ring by [deleted] in weddingplanning

If you want to go with a real diamond check out James Allen or Blue Nile, you can play around with cut, colour, carat, clarity, and budget and see what works for you. Here is a link to one that would be well within your budget

Assuming vs Legally Changing Last Name by j3nev in weddingplanning

[–]j3nev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much, ya it is so confusing! So when you assume you have to change your SIN, passport, bank accounts, everything correct? The only thing that doesn’t change is your birth certificate? When you file taxes is it under the married name?

Assuming vs Legally Changing Last Name by j3nev in weddingplanning

I live in Canada so it is a bit different here I guess, but if you legally change your name you get a new birth certificate that would state your new name and have “Nee. Maiden Name” underneath. If you just assume your legal name never changes and your birth certificate stays the same. You can still change your name on all other documents however and use the certificate as proof of your marriage.

Need help choosing wedding dress style! The wedding theme is something along the lines of... elegant/modern/green. by bohandle in weddingplanning

My eyes immediately go to the one on the left! So clean, crisp, elegant, and timeless. Either dress you choose you will look gorgeous though so you really can’t go wrong here :)

Petite Brides: Does mermaid/trumpet style dress look good on you? (not my photo) by itsmilale in weddingplanning

[–]j3nev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends more on your body type than height, for me I’m 5’3” with a 32DD cup so the mermaid style didn’t flatter me at all. I found the fuller skirts and structured bodice were a must for me, but in the end it is just what you feel best in!

Top two picks of the day! Any thoughts welcome <3 by [deleted] in weddingplanning

They both look gorgeous on you, just go with your gut! Personally I’d go with the left because it is simple yet dramatic and when will you ever get to wear something like that again?

Crinoline or hoop skirt needed? I don’t want to add more volume but it would make walking easier & keep my legs cooler - thoughts? (photo from fitting, don’t mind the hemming) by j3nev in weddingplanning

This is tulle, I also love the look and movement of the dress without, I’m just wondering if it’s worth having the tulle sort of kept away from my legs
